I can see your point about the content being inappropriate, but could see myself taking my kids out to a midnight movie when they were young. My kids always stayed up late when they were young and weren’t grouchy like most kids are late at night. We homeschooled them, too, so they could always sleep in after a late night. I have never understood people’s concerns about other people’s kids’ bedtimes. I wouldn’t judge them for that.
Growing up, when parents wanted a night out, they called on their neighbors - and returned the favor when the other couple wanted a night out.
‘Course that means you’ve got to get to know the neighbors relly well b4 you do it ...
Agreed. I never took my own children to a midnight movie, but it never bothered me that other parents did. We’re homeschoolers, too, and, in fact, there was a group of local homeschooled students who went to a midnight showing of Batman the other night. I probably wouldn’t have hesitated to let my teenaged son go, if I’d known about it. The latest Batman movie has been receiving good reviews from Christian movie reviewers, and I know some people are eager to see it for that reason.
A tragedy like this one can happen anytime, anywhere. It has happened many times in the middle of the day. Heartfelt condolences to the family of the 6yo girl.
The decibel level of the sound in a movie like this would be completely inappropriate for the 3 mo. old child that was taken by the parents to this movie. The violent content of this type of movie was completely inappropriate for the 6 year old.
Same here. I home schooled my son. Plus he was usually up doing a sport class and we didn’t get home till after 10pm 3 times a week. He was up late and slept in.
I also would have taken him to see this movie when he was say 8 or 9 years old. He loved movies like this.
And if anyone has a problem with that, sorry. He is now a well adjusted, happy, productive young man.
Taking your kid to the movies is not anyone’s business but your own.
