In my view, the very worst situation is that in which my government has gone so far over to the dark side is that due process and equal protection are nothing more than a fond memory.

And, in an intermediate place, I fear a situation, to which we are now far too close, in which our gov’t has spent so much on impossible wealth transfer programs that it doesn’t have anything like enough to keep the peace.

Example: I have taken lately to trying to defy time by riding a bicycle. It occurred to me that I am safe on public roads only because most people don’t want to hurt a geezer on a bike.

BUT, we’ve all read of the pool that has re-opened in Brooklyn. The sociopaths who live there and who go to the pool are so clueless that they not only fight but also attack the lifeguards for urging them to settle down.

They simply do not understand the concept of “civilization.” Their need to be “respected” is so urgent that soon the pool will be closed because of the violence.

When the very idea of social and civil intercourse is threatened so acutely, then the cry can only be, “to your tents, Israel!” and the duty to one’s immediate family is to make sure those tents are as defended as one can afford.

In such a case, anything, like tear gas, which will peel off the less serious threats from the more serious suddenly seems like a counsel of prudence.

We live in a sorrowful world. By refusing to confront and accept the sorrow Progressives have virtually guaranteed its increase.

Thanks.

I understand.

So it’s more of a “contingency” thing than a practical use thing?
