Vote for the best candidate that shares your values.

It some cases there may not be much difference between the candidates.

Sounds as though you should try to bring that good Christian Jimmy Carter back as president. That way you could teach Sunday school with him on Sunday and watch him destroy our Republic the rest of the week.

Come on folks, let’s get serious. Let’s get over all the factionalism and fragmentation that is threatening to contribute to our destruction.

As Franklin said before the signing of the Declaration of Independence “We must, indeed, all hang together, or most assuredly we shall all hang separately.”

Which is why I said 18. I could have said 15 but now I see YOU put it on facebook - thought you found it on facebook.

I really don’t think you can judge by the religion label someone puts on. Nancy Pelosi is a Catholic. I have only good to say about the way active Catholics try to live their lives. Many people are Catholic but only on Easter and Christmas. When Pelosi says she knows more about abortion than the Pope she scares me and at the same time shows she is not qualified to hold any political office.

Harry Reid is a Mormon. I have only good things to say about the way active Mormons try to live their lives. Harry Reid is more than unqualified to hold a political office, I suspect he is unqualified to be a Mormon.

With Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney we have a Catholic and a Mormon who apparently try to live their respective religions. They both have found what they believe is the path to Christ and have decided to make that path an important part of their lives. They love The Lord and it shows.

To me what shows is much more important than the lable.

>> And that has what to you with those who will not vote for the godless? <<

The question wasn't about electing atheists. The question was about electing "non-Christians", and the vast majority of non-Christians believe in God, gods, or some form of a higher power, or at least open to the possibility. Very few non-Christians claim to be "godless" and completely reject God. I believe the only "godless" person in Congress right now is Pete Stark.

I need you to contact a cashier I was making small talk with the other night at Home Depot. I replied that it was ‘the cut of my jib’ in response to something she asked. She insisted that I made the phrase up. You have to back me up. It was in Reading, Ma.. Tell them I was the guy who bought some 2x4’s.

Tell the cashier to listen to Dennis Miller, he uses that phrase quite often.

Now I don’t care who you are, that right there is funny. Listen to Dennis Miller sometime, that is his phrase.

Stay safe up yonder in MA, that place seems crazy to a southern boy like me.

‘Crazy’ is a very generous term to describe this state. Glad to see that good senses of humor are universal.

We have but two viable choices to be president next year:

One is a Mormon.

The other is a Communist.

Choose wisely.

I don’t think you should base your vote on someone’s religion, you are not voting for a religious leader. Also, there is no religious test to hold elected office in this country.

So I would say no, certainly not as the only reason, maybe as a tie-breaker. But, there are so many Christians in America that odds are good that most pols you encounter will be, at least nominally, Christians.

Ain’t a factor for me goodn’mad. This ain’t a Papal election.

As for “godless”. The most pious democrap commie like Jimmy FARTER is “godless” as far as I’m concerned. I’d be happy to vote for an atheist conservative over a crapheel lib who goes to church 7 days a week.

I’d also be happy to vote for a conservative who cheats on his wife with women AND men over a democrat slime who’s been happily and faithfully married for 40 years.

Separation of church and state.
When the church ran things, we had the dark ages and the Inquisition.
No thanks. No Torquemada in the White House.

Jesus Christ was a Jewish Rabbi.
So you should never vote for him I suppose.

A good government is independent of religion. Government’s job is to create a legal framework to protect individual rights, a justice system and a prosperous economy - and if necessary, national defense.

Milton Friedman was a Jew and his sage advice helped Pinochet build a great economy in Chile.

John James Cowperthwaite was a Jew and he presided over Athiest Chinese to build one of the most prosperous economies on earth - in a place with no natural resources nor inherent wealth - Hong Kong.

Lee Kuan Yew built Singapore into a modern first world nation in just 20 years - from the ruins of WWII. He did not have Christians, but his people were barely little better than slaves - coolie laborers from the plantations of Malaysia. Chinese and Indians brought over by the British to save away in the hot Asian sun - with these people he built a nation that is astoundingly prosperous, safe and beautiful. Would you prefer a Christian like Jimmy Carter?

Keynes was a Christian anti-semite and developed the economic theories that confound our societies until this very day.

Of course, never vote for a Muslim.
Anybody who follows a 7th century cult formed by a violent, vicious, epileptic, pedophile, sexual deviant, brigand and murderer cannot be trusted.

I get you. I’m ashamed to admit it but I voted for Jimmy Carter the first time. I’ve regretted it ever since. But I learned a valuble lesson from it. Hopefully, Christian politicians will be men of character and their ethics are based upon the things that Christ taught.

Sorry but I can’t agree with you. The 1st amendment says: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” The term seperation of church and state was used in a letter by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptist Association in 1802. They were concerned that the government would create a denomination, much like the Church of England, and force everyone to attend and/or pay homage. Jefferson wrote to reassure them. The goal of the 1st amendment was to protect the church from the government and not vice versa. The Supreme Court, notably Hugo Black, got hold of Jefferson’s writing and twisted it out of context. Seperation of church and state has come to mean that churches can’t participate in the political debate. The founding fathers didn’t mean this at all. Church services used to be regularly held in the House of Representatives. Religious references garnish writings and speeches of great statesmen, presidents, and politicians since we were founded. They are found on practically all of our national monumnets and buildings. This would be impossible if they were being erected today. Our nation was founded via a Judeo-Christian ethic. If you are open-mined, please check your history and you will discover that this is true. I could go on but I’ll leave it at that. God bless you and give us all wisdom. We need it, especially when we close the doors to the voting booth. Leaders need Godly wisdom to make good and wise decisions. Sorry if that offends you.

I’d also be happy
