A mom of five in South Carolina found an old boyfriend — who allegedly has drug problems — had secretly moved into her attic and was sleeping in a heating duct. A South Carolina mother of five found her boyfriend from a dozen years ago secretly living in a heating duct in her attic, and now the bum is on the run.
The mom, identified only as Tracy, discovered her old beau in the duct of her Rock Hill home on Saturday night after she heard animal-like noises in the ceiling above her bedroom.
After putting her children to bed, Tracy heard a thump, "then all the nails just popped out of the ceiling over my bed. Like 'bing, bing, bing," she told Charlotte-area television station WCNC.
Rock Hill is near the border of the Carolinas, about 25 minutes south of Charlotte.
Tracy, a nurse, sent her nephew up to check out the sounds. He found the 44-year-old curled up inside a heating duct.
"He had packed all the old coats and jackets into the heating unit and was sleeping in the heating unit," Tracy told the station.
The man bolted before police arrived.

The woman, identified as Tracy, only found out about her ex living in her attic when some nails popped out of the ceiling above her head and she sent a nephew to investigate.
The family guessed he had been living there for several weeks.
He left several plastic cups of feces and urine behind, they said.
He had also tinkered with an air vent in order to spy on the woman's bedroom, the family told WCNC.
Tracy said the man had been in and out of jail since they broke up 12 years ago, and that he hung around local drug dens, the Rock Hill Herald newspaper reported.
She last saw him about a year ago, when he helped her put some new doors on her house after a fire, the newspaper reported.
The entrance to the attic is near her childrens' bedrooms, and her five kids were so rattled they were now sleeping in the living room. “I want him to be charged with it,” she told The Herald. “It could be somebody else he does the same thing to, but she might not be so lucky.”
Sounds like a horror movie!

What the hell? I had a mouse / mice living in the attic insulation above one room and it drove my whole family crazy with the scratching.

This is around where I live.
What you will not believe is there is only one way into the attic and thats thru the house. Also the ex made holes thru the cieling to see his ex girlfriends bedroom.
The mice aren’t smart enough to only scratch when no one is home.
Background noise of a house with four or five kids is likely to be high.
Some people have the TV going all the time, so loud they can barely hear each other shout. If she was one of them, I wouldn’t be suprized she didn’t hear him.
