Restful sleep is most definitely a great blessing. Isn’t it odd that some people think that attaining some material thing will transport them to bliss? Peace of heart, good FRiends—I like the expensive gifts, lol! Prayers continuing, dear FRiend. Also, am well into “My Country versus Me” and it is *riveting*! Thank you for mentioning it (yet another blessing :) ).

Off to play in the kitchen: fork-tender steak with heavenly garlic cheese bread, garden-grown bell pepper and green beans heated up w/a few jalapenos, almond sugar cookie sandwiches stuck together with chocolate hazelnut spread, and beef-bean-cheese chimichangas (first attempt—let’s hope they don’t fall apart in the deep fryer lol). TTYL.

I finished the book last night. I need to check out one of the websites and see what’s next in his life.

Afternoon, all. Successful choir today; my presentation is in two weeks, I think. Or three. I’ll have to check the calendar. Ash had an accident while we were at church. I think she’s losing control of her bladder because of nerve deterioration in her hindquarters, poor thing. But at least she’s been eating today.

‘Face, I saw one of the Mexican teenagers wearing the brilliantly multicolored knit hat you sent. (I assume she has the scarf, too, but it wasn’t cold enough to need it, while the hats are in fashion regardless of the temperature!) Her mom must have won it in the drawing at the dance Friday night.

Joann says she thinks our committee earned at least 50% more than last year, and the Hispanic Ministry food booth also made a record amount. I could live in Central America for the food, if only they didn’t have earthquakes, volcanoes, mudslides, a killer climate, and social and political unrest and poverty.

Posts by me describing the “thread that shall not be named” have not been approved for posting.

NicknamedBob checked the thread before they deleted it, see his post #1380...maybe he can give you the gist.

If the powers that be permit this post, of course.

I have been reassured by no less than JimRob himself that the Mods cannot read FReepmail.

Thank you all for your love and support. I’ll be leaving for the funeral in a few minutes. Will check in during the week when and if I can.

Take notes on the debate, I doubt we’ll be watching it.

The thread I read was about a man invited to seek shelter in a church facility, but whose presence was not lawfully recognized by a security guard.

The situation came to grief after the security guard contacted police to evict the man. The police were unnecessarily confrontational.

The unpleasantness on the thread came from those who thought the police were only doing their duty, versus those who thought they were far too aggressive for no reason.

Like many threads where people take sides, it did not appear that any level of discourse caused any individual to change his original alignment. We've all seen that before.

Cooler heads should prevail, but in the absence of that, the thread gets deleted, and people get time-outs.

I *love* liverwurst sw’s. Do you put yours on rye bread and smear it w/some sort of jazzy mustard? P.S. My chimi’s flew open 1/3 of the way as soon as they were tossed into the fryer. I stuck toothpicks in the rest of them and put a few mini’s in the freezer to see if that resolves the issue. Besides, all you have to do is pull up anchor, prep and sail off into the sunset whereas we’d have to try to stuff a whole bunch of cooking equipment into the motor home, do a laborious pre trip prep that takes a few days, etc., etc. There are pluses and minuses to everything.

I have been informed by someone whose ID I don’t know that mods can’t read FReepmail. I’m too low on the totem pole for JimRob to respond to me. Actually, I’m surprised when anyone responds. Then again, in the grand scheme of things....
Where are you (on the continuum of your trip, not the specifics)? It’s so good to see you—one less worry.

Oh, that’s what you meant by “sleeping beauty.” I just read the body, not the comments. It’s difficult to assess what actually happened. Consider the Rodney King debacle.

LOL!

I figured a Mexican would want that set. The yarn actually has a color name: Mexicana! I love it!

Poor Ash. It would seem to me that doggie diapers are available. Check online at doctorsfosterandsmith.com and see what they have. They also may have references where you can get the diapers. Poor baby. I bet she was embarrassed.

I would have loved a good Jewish rye...but I’m on the “what’s on sale” diet, and when there’s hi fiber bread buy one get one free, I have to go with tbe sliced fireplace log. Did go with a honey mustard/horsey sauce concoction that wasn’t too bad, a salad with ranch and parm, and a pot of cuban-style coffee for all of it to do the backstroke in.

And it was a five mile walk for the ingredients so my good appetite was assured...UNTIL I read about your gourmet menu....sigh

While I was accidentally asleep with Kathleen, Der Prinz made chicken-something. It had bacon in it. Kathleen couldn’t eat any, in spite of the arrival of the Fourth Tooth; she had peas-mush.

Kathleen was just being a lady: I’m sure she didn’t want to drool bacon juice all over. I think I have a recipe for Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies!!!! YES! Remind me and I will make them when I visit. :o]

I’m sure if you tell Tom to remind me, the job will get DONE! LOL!

Welp, I’m taking my silly self to get parallel to the deck and try to find a position where my shoulder doesn’t hurt quite so much. I will try to watch another movie. ;o]
