...to all Canadian FRiends and their families. A great time of year to count our blessings and be thankful.
Here's some turkey tips http://www.torontosun.com/2012/10/06/chat-get-thanksgiving-dinner-tips-from-food-expert-rita-demontis
Ooops! I’ll try that link again http://www.torontosun.com/2012/10/06/chat-get-thanksgiving-dinner-tips-from-food-expert-rita-demontis
Thank God that Columbus discovered America, otherwise NO ONE would’ve found Canada....
Leif Erikson found us long before that johnny-come-lately Columbus :-)
Canada Ping!
I didn’t know this.
Happy Thanksgiving to all the Canucks! I love our Canadian neighbors!
Yeah, Giovanni Cabot gets the credit for being the first Newfie, but the vikings were here long before him (and Columbus).
We usually deep fry our turkey but last year I tried this recipe and it was wonderful. It was shockingly moist and very tasty.

That sounds tasty. I once knew a guy who swore the only way to cook turkey was to smear it with peanut butter first. He said you couldn’t taste the peanut later, but the oil made a wonderful baste/coating. I’ve never had the nerve to try it.
It does sound like it would work good but I am with you, I don’t feel brave enough to try it. lol
The recipe I listed did have a draw back, it wasn’t good drippings to make a gravy with. Also, when I stewed the carcass for hours to make a freezable broth (always do that with my turkeys)the allspice and ginger was very evident.
I couldn’t really detect the spices when we ate the turkey but the broth, oh yeah. I wounder if the pb works the same way?
Too bad he didn't teach you guys to play hockey! ;-)
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
May we be blessed with many more.
