Is Obama worried about Connecticut?
Obama Campaign | 10/7/12 | Obama Campaign email

Hey

Something really cool happened last week, and I had to share with you.

You probably know that one of our top priorities this year is registering as many new voters as possible. This past Thursday, supporters down in Florida really stepped up, registering over 10,000 voters. In a single day. I'm not sure if that's a record, but it's definitely amazing.

Florida is just one example -- and it wouldn't have been possible without folks from neighboring states pitching in to help. Every day, supporters are getting involved in this campaign -- whether it's registering voters, making calls, knocking on doors, or participating in one of a million other ways.

This Saturday, your neighbors in New Haven are continuing that work by knocking on doors in nearby battleground states, asking voters to support President Obama. It's critical work -- can you join them?

Yes, I'll be there!

No, I can't make it, but I'll help by signing up for Dashboard, the campaign's online field office.

What: Knock on doors in a battleground state

Where: New Haven, CT 06510

When: Saturday, October 13th Shifts start at 7:45 am

Or find other events near you.

I am constantly in awe of the energy and enthusiasm of the folks who have stepped up to own this campaign. I hope you can make it to the canvass this Saturday -- there are just 30 days left.

This is the most recent email sent out by the campaign. The nearest swing state though is New Hampshire (or maybe Pennsylvania). Both of them are far too far from here to make a trip knocking on doors really worth it..... Does this mean Obama is worried about Connecticut polling?

If he makes a campaign appearance there (as opposed to a fundraising visit) he's worried. If he starts running ads there he's worried.Otherwise,no.We shouldn't overreach here.We need to concentrate on at least several of the 10 or so swing states.Nothing more, nothing less.

And we been to concentrate on the Senate as well.

If I ever run for President, I will visit every state. Go Big or Go Home. ;)

Hope the Florida Sec. of State will hurry and investigate the Democrat registration drive, particularly the illegal immigrant vote, the NY vote, and the felon vote.

Under our current system you'd lose.

Very True.. One of biggest reason(other than Kennedy cheating) that Nixon lost in 1960 is that he vistied every state in the contiguous US. If he would have concentrated more on battleground states he would have won.

There aren’t really any nearby battleground states..... New Hampshire is 3 hours away and Pennsylvania is about 6. Those might not seem like far in the bigger states like Texas but it’s a little far for New England I imagine

He also went up to Alaska just a few days before the election and lost valuable time flying there when as you
point out correctly-he should have concentrated on the swing states. But Daley’s Chicago would have cranked out the votes needed to carry Illinois no matter what.

Knock on doors in a battle ground state?

I have heard rumors of Obama having problems in Connecticut.

obama is in trouble everywhere. The chickens have come home to roost.

I will take a certain guilty pleasure in the wailing and gnashing of teeth soon to come.

Schadenfreude!

That's what Nixon 1960 said. Problem was, Alaska took an inordinate amount of time, and the election was of course a squeaker. All in all, probably the wrong decision.

I have family in the Woodbridge/Bethany area, big Jewish population, and they have washed their hands of the Muslim sympathizer. My future father in law curses at him in Yiddish every time he appears on the tv screen.

We have a very competitive senate race in CT with a RINO a bit to the right of Susan Collins, maybe even right of Scott Brown, who just might win. As depressing as that is, it’s progress for CT and may indicate the state is in play for Obama.
