Semi-gloomy and 75-really humid, too...

I’m sure all the surrogates
For Biden and king Obama
Hoped for last night’s debate
To be more riant, and less drama

But Biden acted with rudeness
And never once relented
From sneering, bizarre behavior
Which made him seem demented

With his giggling and snorting
I’ve never been reminded more
Of that psychotic performance
In 2000 by Al Gore...

Deja vu part deux...

I’m contemplating whether I really want to go out tonight to watch football. It’s going to be 44 at kickoff, heading down to 29 overnight.

I know what you mean. I am on call till midnight tonight. Hoping there is no fire so I don’t have to be outside all night. Haven’t had a chimney fire yet, they are coming.

No TV, but this is a non-conference game at my daughter’s school, so it’s no big thing to me if we don’t go. I’ll let her make the call.

My regular rooting interest, the Jayhawks are close enough that I can walk to their stadium, but they aren’t where my daughter or my tax dollars go. But they do win. Just one losing season since 1967.

My daughter’s school is 3-3 and this is the most wins they’ve had in at least a decade.

He also voted for the prescription drug plan. So he was for all of these things before he was against them? Hmm, that sounds familiar...

Earlier, I heard what sounded like someone tinkering with lightweight metal just up the road, so I walked up the trail to the next hill to get a look from above-the guy who leases the loon’s house is either designing a really elaborate robot costume for Halloween, or he is attempting to create artificial intelligence in his back yard...

Both the guy and his wife are weird-she speaks to me sometimes when she sees me walk by on my way to the woods. He never, ever speaks or waves to anyone, never smiles and has told neighbors who spoke to him that he isn’t interested in knowing anyone, and lives out here to be alone. The wife told me he is a geologist, and works out of town all week-I guess he likes the company of rocks, not people. He compulsively mows and grooms the yard every weekend, too...

The other neighbors were surprised that I knew her name and had talked to her, because no one else had-not even when he decided they owned that part of the (public) road and tried to gate it off so they could be “alone”, but another neighbor called county road and bridge, who came out, tore the thing down and charged them a fine.

They are very strange people-I don’t know his name, but everyone calls him assh***. I’m still curious to know what he is making out of that metal-I hope it is legal, whatever it is...
