You can also look at it from another dimension. What does it mean "a pill ... lasts?" It means "for how long does it work in your body." You can have the pill in your hand, or you can have it in your stomach.

Sorry, you are wrong. The doc says take one every half hour. Meaning take on every half hour after taking the first one. The question how long do they last means, how long till all the pills are gone. Take the first one, wait 30 minutes, take the second, wait another 30 minutes take the third.

The question doesn't ask how long the effects of the pills last only how long the pills last. Correct answer 60 minutes from the time the first pill is taken.

Sorry, you are wrong. I didn't start taking the pills until 4 hours later, so they lasted me 5 hours (300 minutes). After all, the doctor didn't tell me when to start taking them...

I got 11/11, but I've seen variations of all of those questions before.

I did have someone fooled once about the 4th of July in England. I claimed that they are so bitter about the colonies rebelling that they extended June to 31 days and then changed July to go 1,2,3,5. But this was before the internet became ubiquitous so asking "Have you ever actually seen a British calendar?" got him to doubt his original beliefs.

I got the question ‘correct’ (60 min) because I assumed the question was intended as a trick. So I went with the time period that I would have the Pills for and not ‘how long the pills would last).

Also, each pill could last longer than 30 minutes, the pill taking interval implies they last 30 minutes, but does not require that they do.
