I’m hoping in this context “We lost EVERYTHING” means “we lost power and phone” and not “our home has been completely destroyed” (like those poor people in Queens and the Jersey shore).

If anyone is using the phrase “We lost EVERYTHING” to mean their iPhone doesn’t work, well...I won’t say anything uncharitable.
Hope the worse interpretation is not the correct one.
