What the heck is WRONG with that whale?

* * *

I was mad at Christie at first but on further thought, I think he’s “taking one for the team” — his state, that is. His state desperately needs all the help it can get. If Christie alienates Obama and the Bamster wins after all, then as vindictive as he is, NJ will be in a world of hurt. You know Obama would slow up shipments to NJ and do everything in the world just to get back at Christie. C is protecting his state, and taking a hit to his reputation to do it.

Christie could have made his point without fellating Obama like he did.

What did Morris say a few days out from the 2008 election?

Hail Signalman,

I sincerely thank you for your military service. Every American veteran deserves our gratitude.

But not just ours; our vets, by their willingness to represent American power, have also enabled many other nations to live in freedom.

My question to wise FReepers, re: Dick Morris- can anyone who served our enemy be trusted?

I doubt it, actually. Obama knows how Christie feels about him. I’m sure he made it very clear that C had better kowtow to him while he was there.

Think about it: Christie probably knows that he can’t aspire to the Presidency unless he loses a hundred pounds or so. (That’s just reality: the public at large doesn’t have respect for people who are obese these days.) So the highest office he can aspire to is what he has. I’m sure for that reason, plus his own commitment to his state, that he wants to do the best he can for his state. If that means licking Obama’s shoes ... then I guess that’s what he’s going to do.

You mean the race that he promised would be Hillary vs Condi?

In fairness, I believe Morris predicted Obama would win handily leading up to the election. His most accurate prediction was that Obama would push socialism and the GOP would kick his butt in 2010 and Obama would be in bad shape in 2012.

I usually listen to him... he is a bright guy. However, I know that he makes most of his money from selling books and webhits to conservatives. You have to take that into account when you listen to him.

What would be difficult is hearing that little troll toot his own horn for all of eternity regarding this, but I guess that’s the price you gotta pay

i can live with that and i’ll even pay for all the hookers toes he wants

Yeah, I almost bought that book. Obviously, he pushes a new book every year. But Clinton would not have hired him if he was a dunce. If he and Barone are agreeing on a win with a mandate, I’m inclined to believe it.

What the heck is WRONG with that whale? I didn't hear NY mentioned at all.

He's the governor of New Jersey, not New York. New Jersey votes to reelect him (or not), not New Yawk. And the hell with the other 48, too. This is about Chris Christie's wide political career! Getting those Joisy votes is important, dontcha know, even if it means being Obama's Greek column for his tour of the Jersey Shore.

I am pretty confident going into Tuesday and I don’t discount what he is saying.... I just try to hedge my bets with him when he goes against the grain of conventional wisdom among conservative pundits.

C is protecting his state, and taking a hit to his reputation to do it.

Agreed. His first responsibility is to the citizens of NJ.

Add George Will and Newt Gingrich to the mandate list. Morris is no longer an outlier.

Four things that did 0 in - IMO.
1. You didn’t build that.
2. Debate number 1.
3. Get your revenge.
4. The Redskins lost to a 1-6 team at home.

One thing did Obama in...governing!

Our affirmative action POTUS can’t be expected to effectively lead because this individual never shouldered the responsibility of having to make decisions that had real consequences.

And tomorrow Americans united together will reject 4 more years of King Obama despite the fact that his self-esteem might suffer.
