Robots revolting in the sense of making choice through the exercise of free will, is a silly notion. What really should concern us is the law of unexpected consequences when applied to autonomous devices. A robot, or some cloud of nano machines, might simply relentlessly carry out a function for which it was programmed, and their programming might be so sophisticated, or their design so robust, that stopping these devices might someday be beyond our control. If the intended function had some unexpected or unforeseen danger to our world, well, too bad for us.
