Unusual activity at Syrian chemical weapons sites amid rumors Assad is dead or fled

Western intelligence officers were seeing new signs of activity at Syrian chemical weapons sites, they told the New York Times Sunday, Dec. 2. “It’s in some ways similar to what they’ve done before,” a senior U.S. intelligence official said. “But they’re doing some things that suggest they intend to use the weapons. It’s not just moving stuff around. These are different kind of activities.”

DEBKAfile’s Middle East sources add rumors were flying around the region Saturday night and Sunday morning that President Bashar Assad had been killed or fled Syria. Neither is confirmed. However, the rebels have in recent days made major strategic gains and begun to turn the tide of war against's Assad forces.

The new rumors tie in with the suggestive movements of chemical weapons detected by Western intelligence without any indication of their likely target.

Those articles are coming out now because of the absolute failure of US and NATO policies. Otherwise they would never even talk about the situation. They are preparing the populace for the horrific results of their policies. In the past hour, a Presidential spokesman gave clear warning to Syria that the use of Chemical weapons will cross the red line. There are new reports that new activity is occurring at sites containing the WMD's and that activity can only mean the future use of the munitions.

And no, the US has no clear plan and is not even executing a viable plan. Total complete failure. They lost control of Ghadaffi's WMD and Man Pads. East Libya is under control of the Muslim Brotherhood. Egypt is under control of the Muslim Brotherhood. And Syria is being attacked by Islamic Terrorist Insurgencies funded and armed by the US and NATO. That is not soft tyranny. The US and NATO are now sponsors of international terrorism. That is current US Policy. Promoting, sponsoring and funding terrorist insurgencies all across the Middle East and Africa. And the results are and will be horrific.

He does not have all those scuds to use against rebels. Those scuds are for Turkey, Jordan and Israel. For the life of me I cannot understand this US intervention policy. You do not back the man into a corner, draw a red line and then get all upset when 10,000's of citizens get killed from the worlds most advanced chemical and biological WMD's, when the red line is crossed. The proper way to handle this was the GWB way. You use a coalition with overwhelming force to handle any possible WMD situations. The current US policy can only result in the use of Assad's chemical and biological WMD. Either by Assad. His loyalists. Or by the rebels and terrorists who gain control of the weapons.

This also brings up the possibility that the US was planning these terrorist led insurgency type interventions years ago. Would explain the insanity of claiming Saddam had no WMD, after the UN spent close to 10 years destroying thousands of WMD components in Iraq. The entire left and most of the US populace was duped into not being concerned about WMD's in the middle East. That has allowed the Interventionists to work their dark magic in Libya, Egypt and now Syria. And the left is too stupid to ever even realize they were played on WMD in Iraq. Just as they are being played on CO2 in the atmosphere. IMHO.

That's a fair assessment of the situation. It will only get worse by all indications.
