My dad fought too! I don’t care about what they experienced. It ended the war. Any current handwringing over the ‘tragedy’ is just that. That entire country was for the Emporer lock-stock-and-barrel and willing to die, even with bamboo swords if need be ———CHILDREN!

Anyone feeling sympathy towards WWII era Japanese should read up on Bataan!!! Those innocent Japanese cheered wildly at Japans atrocities against the Chinese. The Japanese were totally behind their government untill the horror of war was visited onto them!!

Well said. My father was a Marine in WWII. He went through the "meatgrinder" H*ll on Iwo Jima.
He stated often that without the Atomic bombs being dropped he likely wouldn't have survived the invasion of Japan.
