Vice President Joe Biden says to buy Shotgun shells in order to stay safe in an earthquake on a google hangout on gun violence.
His mouth is an “assault weapon”.
It would be helpful to have a shotgun too.

I would like to drop both Biden and Bloomberg into the middle of the Alaskan wilderness, full of huge brown bears and grizzles, hand Biden a double barrled shotgun with bird shot and Bloomberg a bolt action rifle with just two cartridges and then tell them: “Good luck.”
yup, because when there’s a gang of 10-20 armed men coming to loot my home and/or place of business, a shotgun with five rounds is the perfect self defense weapon.

I don't have to worry about earthquakes, but we get weather events here, and having neighbors around is important to recover and limit damage from roofs that are gone, etc...
I'm not interested in shooting anybody, I'm interested in getting the neighborhood back in shape.
If someone really wants to be a jerk... ok. I'll accomodate them and find a ditch to place the body in, but I don't need a disaster for that to happen.

While I personally might prefer a shotgun at medium range for protection, I’ll keep my own semi-automatic 5.56, and I won’t tell any other law-abiding American what type of firearm he may need for himself or for herself. What might work for Joe Biden isn’t what matters. He cannot decide what others can buy. Some people might want a .22. Some may want a .308 M-14. It’s their right to decide; it’s still America until we get too lazy to push back against these elitist, know-it-all monsters. If they want a land where the people have health care and no assault weapons, they should head to Cuba. Don’t inflict Cuba on us!
1st off, you don’t use a shot gun with #00 buck shot to hunt duck, so calling it a “duck” shotgun is as stupid as calling a semi-auto rifle an assault gun. The correct name for that shotgun would be a field shotgun. 2nd, You wouldn’t use that load for personnel defense, not even to mention the 28” barrel. I know he is trying to make a point, but let’s not spread more lies and half truths in doing it.
