Frankly, I never liked Barbra Striesand’s singing that much. She was always too nasally for me. Same reason I don’t like Celine Dion, though I also don’t like her because of her ‘combative’ style of singing. Don’t know why that term comes to mind, when she’s singing, but it always seems so ‘in your face’.

Bramps, Adele DID sing live.
They (everyone MINUS Adele) were in the studio practicing and re-orchestrating everything to shorten the song for Oscar appropriate length.
The father of a good friend of mine did the orchestration of Skyfall and said that Adele (and Paul) were the most incredibly humble, kind, and enjoyable and down to earth people to work with. And he has QUITE a resume himself and has worked with a ton of people on a ton of things you’d recognize.

I don’t watch the Oscars because I loathe hollyweird. That being said, I wish the naysayers would leave the thread alone just as I hate asshats coming into our Nascar threads.

I used to LOVE watching the Oscars: the gowns, the “inside” jokes from Bob Hope, the glamour...
Then the damn 60s and 70s happened and it all went to hell.
Am catching it a little tonight...beautiful gowns....that’s the only good part.
A song about boobs, a Teddy bear saying he does great sex, the show needs to be more “gay”....? Really?
C’mon people this is just sludge dressed up in a designer gown being run by a bell boy. No intelligence displayed, no literacy used, nothing clever at all...
