Gotta say I agree. If you’ve not seen NCFOM, you haven’t really lived. Helluva film.

WHY, in an instance like this, cannot we simply respond? WHY must there be the “blabber-mouths”? Cannot THEY be somehow eliminated?

“The China Syndrome”
“Caligula”
“The English Patient” (How could THIS triviality won The Academy Award over “Fargo”?)

I saw it on satellite.

Until Passion of the Christ came out, I hadn’t been in a theater since ET.

That’s pretty long ago.

Or as my wife called it, Dances With Smurfs.

The appeal escapes me. It's a cartoon in literally every sense of the word, and not a very good or realistic one. And here I thought Ralph Bakshi warned us about the dangers of humans having sex with cartoons...

Also, do not forget these trusty James Cameron tropes: the myth of the noble savage, the superiority of Neolithic civilizations over advanced ones (in every conceivable way), the innate spirituality that ultimately converts the confused idealist, ... and of course, a fight between a guy/gal in an exoskeleton and a powerful Alien.

ZDT disappointed me because I was unaware that it came from the CIA perspective of the raid. All the whining from the commie libs should have provided a hint to me but I guess I didn’t pick up on it. I was hoping it was a movie about the Navy SEALS getting Skippy bin Laden. When the book “No Easy Day” came out, I heard that Speilberg was talking about getting the movie rights. I hope he does get the rights and goes on to make a movie from the perspective of the Navy SEALS.

I agree with you on Daniel Day Lewis. Colonel was okay in “Oh Brother Where Art Thou” but then that is my kind of music and they didn’t screw that up. For overrated, “On The Waterfront”, “Cleopatra” and “Erin Brockovich” mut be at, or near the top.

Anything with Steve Carell in it.

People are so desperate to turn him into a cinematic comedic genius even though he cant act his way through a plastic bag. Every move he is in flops.

Funny in the Office, but that’s about as far as you go.

Like all of Cormac’s stuff, the book is fantastic. I really did not believe anyone — even the Coen Brothers — would be able to pull it off.

A little too much like my first marriage (in the 1970s) for comfort, though...

I’m 6’8” so I don’t do well in theaters. I always try to sit in the back so as to not block the view of others. Batman the movie (1989?) I arrived kinda late and had to sit in the crowd. People behind me weren’t pleased and bitched the whole way through. That’s partly why I no longer go but mostly because I just don’t like crowds and don’t want to help pay the liberal creep actors’ salaries.

Dances With Smurfs...LOLOL

The rest is totally true.

Speaking of Bakshi, should we mention American Pop or other in the genre?

Heavy Metal?

I love rotoscoping.

On The Waterfront

It's pretty safe to say anything with Marlon Brando in the lead is going to suck.

It was incredible really. I though Chigurh should have won supporting actor. I thought it was really well written. All the characters had depth to them - and even if we didn’t understand what all their motivations were - it wasn’t just your standard stock folks.

Having your main character and the ‘hero’ leave someone to die in the desert over money? That’s basically your first sign that you ain’t in Kansas anymore toto. The ending being when the actual protagonist acts like a real person and retires rather than face his demons? Chigurh gets taken out by a car accident?

The Coen Brothers did a fabulous job. All I can say with it.
