I think he has a good sense of what’s going on, and knows about the major players.

But how many times can you hang your hat on “Well, back in 1988 I predicted a snowstorm...?

I mean he sure as heck didn’t predict when they screwed him out of all that cash, did he?

So my recommendation would be listen and learn but take it with a pound of salt!

Well, that certainly convinced me. Scientists derided the Wright brothers so they’re wrong about cold fusion too! Makes perfect sense.

Meanwhile, the E-cat failed its first big test outside Rossi’s lab. No surprise there.

I have always liked Celente but I do not know his track record.
He is sometimes a guest on Kook to Kook, but that may be a negative for his credibility.
Has he met ET?

"There’s no more icemen around!"

Au contraire. Jerry Butler is still alive and kicking.

Not aother self promoting huckster! "Gerald Celente’s Dire Predictions For 2012 By majestic on December 20, 2011 in News 48 disinfo.com/2011/12/gerald-celentes-dire-predictions-for-2012/‎ "Gerald Celente of Trends Research International has a habit of predicting nasty events before they happen. He just emailed us his selection of 12 things we’d rather not see in 2012: One megatrend looms on the near horizon. And we forecast that when it strikes, it will be a shock felt around the world. Hyperbole it’s not! Our research has revealed that at the very highest levels of government this megatrend has been seriously discussed. Read on:.................................. 11. Alternative Energy 2012: Even under the cloud of Fukushima, the harnessing of nuclear power is being reinvigorated by a fuel that is significantly safer than uranium and by the introduction of small, modular, portable reactors that reduce costs and construction time. In addition, there are dozens of projects underway that explore the possibility of creating cleaner, competitively priced liquid fuels distilled from natural sources. Plan to start saying goodbye to conventional liquid fuels!" That pretty well covers all bases. After he also predicted the stock market would vary up and down.

“To me, at this time, alternative energy is the holy grail of civilization”

To any thinking man it is. The realization of unlimited non polluting energy would after a while bring and end to wars..this guy is right. Gov’ts would soon learn the advantages of making the deserts bloom or building vast hydroponic crop producing edifices in deserts. Plenty of a/c, heat, food and entertainment for all. (this would make a great ‘TED TALK’ topic!) There would be almost no limit to what individuals could produce, own or be afforded. Let’s GET WITH IT!

No thanks needed. I think I can make predictions more accurate and as detailed as Gerald’s so here goes:

(1) The Mideast will experience various problems in the coming years.
(2) Oil will be important in U.S. economy.

Remember you heard it here!

I think you give way too much credit to government.

“Whether it’s infinite energy, or the economy or geopolitics, people have belief systems, and it’s very hard to break out of them, so they have a very narrow vision of the future,” says Celente.

The term "infinite energy" sets off the kook detector.

The realization of unlimited non polluting energy would after a while bring and end to wars.

The only thing that will bring an end to wars is the end of humanity.

“To me, at this time, alternative energy is the holy grail of civilization”

Which is precisely why governments will oppose any truly viable alternate form of energy.

Well, that's just silly. Based on the vulgar Marxist idea that all people fight about is money or resources. If that were the case, why are Muslims, many of whom are incredibly wealthy, attacking us?

Was the Cold War a conflict over energy?

Was Stalin motivated by a desire to better provide for his people or to implement the world revolution?

Would Hitler have dropped his plans for conquest if only he'd had cold fusion?

I agree that if cheap, non-polluting energy were widely available, it would eliminate most logical reasons for human conflict. But most human conflict is not based on logical reasons.
