No excuse. A drone (I don’t know if it was a Predator or a Global Hawk) orbited over the scene for hours without being bothered by MANPADs. A low-level supersonic pass by an F-16 would happen too fast for a MANPADS operator to react.

Interesting theory.
Why FBI on scene one month later and only for a short time? Is that enough to investigate four Americans murdered, including an Ambassador, and other injuries of the 30 odd people on the ground at that time?
Nobody can answer satisfactorily why the compound (OUR compound) was not secured immediately afterwards. How was that standard operating procedure?

The number one reason is that the event did not occur, Ambassador Stevens was on a Black Ops mission that did exist. Just like in the opening of the Mission Impossible, “As always, should you or any of your I.M. Force be caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions”. But the rest of the military people didn't get the memo, and so went to the Ambassadors defense.
