Clearly you do not understand modern weapon systems. An F-18/16 or any of the bombers could easily have dropped a JDAM or a laser guided munition from well out of any MANPADs range. Even an AC-130 Spooky could easily engage a MANPADs and come out on top. Remember the ex-SEAL said he was “painting” a target? About any US fighter aircraft can deliver a well placed weapon from 30,000 feet or higher.

BTW Why didn't the bad guys take out the drone that was orbiting if they had MANPADs?

Why didn't the US Military crash that same drone into the heavy mortar position that was being painted by the SEAL?
