I don’t find any documentation at this website that admiral Lyons actually said this. What am i missing?

You are missing the urge to run with a story without examining the underlying links.

dramatic prisoner exchange that saved our ambassador’s life

Wait a second. Negotiating with terrorists and handing over the Blind Sheik would make his poll numbers go UP????

Hell, people are so messed up these days, maybe it would.

Lyons on possible kidnapping attempt...

Adm. James Lyons (Ret.) on Growing Benghazi Scandal

That’s why I speculated, “Perhaps this was supposed to be part of a kidnapping, hostage situation, holding him in exchange for the Blind Sheikh”: Because killing Ambassador Stevens made no sense to me, since he was the great facilitator in funneling the arms to the rebels, to other militias—many of which were al-Qaeda-affiliated, who had been fighting our troops in Iraq. So why would you kill the golden goose? It made no sense to me.

Your comment was incredibly stupid.

My comment is not stupid. The article providing NOTHING to back up the claim that Lyons said that. Why don’t you try actually going to the article and clicking the links like I and another poster have done, instead of name-calling me for doing due diligence?

Because it would show how weak he is in dealing with terrorists.

This is the ONLY scenario that makes any sense to me.

There is also a theory/rumor that ambassador Stevens wasn't too happy about helping the administration with its gun running activities.

Someone should know if that's true or not.

The full context:

ARONOFF: I want to give you, first, the opportunity to clarify a quote that has been widely attributed to you—it was on numerous websites. You were said to have told The Washington Examiner that Benghazi was actually a bungled kidnapping attempt perpetrated upon Ambassador [Christopher] Stevens, and that it was going to be part of a hostage exchange for the “Blind Sheikh,” Omar Abdel Rahman, who sits in jail in the U.S. for his role in planning the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993. I’m sure you’ve seen that—

ADMIRAL LYONS: Right. First, yes, I appreciate the opportunity to clarify because, first of all, I’ve never talked to The Washington Examiner. Where this came up: I was on Lou Dobbs’s show, and somebody must have copied down from that show, maybe submitted a report or something, to The Washington Examiner. Lou asked me, “What do [you] think went on? What [do you] suspect happened?” I said, “Well, if I had to speculate, I believe this was a bungled, a bungled attack—a kidnapping attack, to kidnap Ambassador Stevens, and hold him in exchange for the Blind Sheikh.” You know there’s been a lot of pressure, certainly from [Egyptian President Mohamed] Morsi; that’s one of his objectives, to get the Blind Sheikh released. Now, again, [Dobbs] asked me what I thought, and I speculated, because nothing else made sense to me. We know that Ambassador Stevens was concerned over his safety there. I mean, why would he stay there—first of all, why was he even there on the night of 9/11? You have the significance of the date of 9/11—most places, people hunker down. Then we had a lot of not only tactical, but strategic warning of this attack. We can get into that now, if you’d like.

No mention of Obama Admin involvement. Quit calling me stupid, I am the one paying attention here.

This is the full claim from the source:

According to a report from the Washington Times, retired 4 Star Admiral James Lyons reveals the entire plot that led to the deaths of Americans in Libya that could have been prevented, who gave the orders, and why events took place as they tragically did. Admiral James Lyons is probably the highest ranking figure ever to intervene in a federal government criminal case, and testify. Thanks to this man’s dedication to his country and the truth, we will finally know the truth and who was responsible.

In his words Lyons says that the attack on Benghazi was a bungled kidnapping attempt to be perpetrated upon Ambassador Stevens. This was to appear to be a hostage exchange for a terrorist prisoner who was to be released in trade for a supposedly captured US ambassador. The trade would have been for Omar Abdel Rahman an international prisoner, known as the Blind Sheikh.

This apparent abduction by terrorists of our ambassador and then negotiated trade for the Blind Sheikh would have been the “October Surprise” that would have elevated President Obama’s flagging popularity and boosted his approval ratings for a re-election. A dramatic prisoner exchange that saved our ambassador’s life However, something went horribly wrong. A cunning and illegal bit of treachery by the Obama White House turned into something entirely different.

Lyons was only engaging in conjecture - which is demonstrated by your own post. This pinhead insinuates that Lyons is claiming the Obama Admin is behind it all. I am not saying that such is impossible, but Lyons is not pushing that meme, as the article claims. It is therefore a fraudulent claim.

This is the ONLY scenario that makes any sense to me.

I'd like to know how this admiral would have been in a position to know this. It seems to me this scenario created just as much opportunity for Zero to look bad even if it had worked. We would have been asking why security was so lax that the ambassador was vulnerable to a kidnapping in the first place. Trading the sheik as ransom for a kidnapping that shouldn't have happened in the first place does not exactly make Zero look like a strong leader. I don't buy it.

Right, you made no mention of 0bama Admin involvement either.

The video was posted June 22, 2012, so it cannot have any bearing on Benghazi.

You mentioned the video and said it had no bearing on Benghazi. Stupid!

this reminds me of election dirty tricks that some well placed individual reveals how bad the Obama campaign is going and that they were doing everything to cover up how they were losing PA and OH and Colorado. And there was this democrat (who preferred Hillary) saying the same thing.

Yeah! Right! Liars. There job was to raise expectations only to suck the air out of the conservatives.

I suspect this is the same somehow. don’t be fooled. No evidence to any truth of it.
