I like Texas Pete ‘cause it’s not nearly as hot as Tabasco altho in the Army it was Tabasco that came in the tiny bottles in our MRE’s & that went great with the rations.
As for hot dogs, the Coney Island remains a classic for me.
Thanks - I can’t believe it took 195 posts before someone mentions the best hot dogs on the planet. All this prattle about ketchup, mustard, kimchi, fried grubs, 30-weight motor oil...when a truly great dog needs NOTHIING! Don’t forget to meniton in the same breath Max’s, another great Jersey Shore staple - same dogs, cooked the same way, and just as delicious. I feel so sorry for all the poor beknighted people talking about their litle second-rate dogs; get thee hither to a Windmill or Max’s, and you will at last find Hot Dog Enlightenment.
ahh, whatever to the flaming/grilling. People like what they like - french fries and mayo - yuck! Same with dipping french fries in a malt, ewww!
Yes indeedy. A Vienna hot dog extraordinaire.
Hold the relish....
Now a good Italian beef with worth pining for. mmmmmm......
Extra juice (sloppy in fact) hot giardiniara on the side, no cheese. We often went out for Saturday lunch for these. With a side of fries.
Gawd, they are good.
Taco Cat spelled backwards is still Taco Cat :-)
Ha!!!
fresh
Depending on the brand, I often boil my dogs to get the excess salt out. Even the Olympic brand from Costco are too salty for me. Salt’s supposed to enhance the flavour, not overwhelm it!
As for ketchup on dogs, if you like it, go for it. If you don’t, MYOB and don’t presume to tell others what they should like.
For my dogs, I like French’s mustard (that Dijon stuff makes me nauseous), homemade sundried tomato ketchup, sauerkraut, sweet green relish, diced raw COOKING onion, 1000 island dressing, pickled jalapeno rings, a dash of Tapatio, and a sprinkle of celery SEED.
Oh, and the dog itself is split with cheddar cheese in the slice, melted and ooey gooey good!
I've experience one lake-effect white out...and that's enough for a lifetime...as well as measuring snowfall in FEET, not inches..
pretty funny.
