You're right about the Mc part, But it was LBJ & McNamara that ordered the navy to use bombs left over from WWII to cover up for a bomb shortage that was embarasing them in the press. For decades the crew of CVA59 have suffered the blame for McNamara's mistake. This wasn't revealed until this book came out a few years ago...... Indeed, McCain rigged that F-4B across the deck to fire a Zuni rocket into Fred White’s A-4E, destroy 21 aircraft, injure 161, kill 134, cause the Forrestal to be out of commission for 207 days and cost the Navy $72 million. If he was devious enough to do all of that you’d think he could have figured out how to defeat Soetoro.
