Michael Douglas's announcement that his throat cancer was caused by human papillomavirus, a sexually transmitted disease, has raised awareness about a men's health trend doctors have been alarmed about for years.

However, a link between oral sex and throat cancer is no surprise to experts.
"This is not a surprise by any stretch," Dr. Eric Genden, professor and chair of otolaryngology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City, told CBSNews.com. "There's an epidemic of HPV-related throat cancers."
Throat cancer, also known as oropharyngeal cancer, refers to tumors that occur in the tonsils, base of the tongue and upper throat. Smoking and alcohol use have been associated risk factors, but in recent years throat cancers related to the sexually transmitted virus human papillomavirus (HPV) have been on the rise.
HPV is an STD transmitted by oral and genital sex.

and Douglas, the genius that he is, said... Douglas, the husband of Catherine Zeta Jones, continued: "I did worry if the stress caused by my son's incarceration didn't help trigger it. But yeah, it's a sexually transmitted disease that causes cancer. And if you have it, cunnilingus is also the best cure for it."

Michael Douglas is also a notable lefty in Hollyweird...a nuclear disarmament advocate, pro-gun control, contributor to Obama, Dodd, etc. and (oh, yeah) Al Franken, too...plus contributions to various peacenik and lots of commie-front organizations.
His amoral liberal bent shows you can't take the junk out of the junkman....oh, wait...that was his uber-liberal father who started out as a junkman on the streets of New York.
Douglas Pere financially supported the likes of Feinstein, Clinton, the corrupt Chicagoan, former Sen. Carol Mostley Fraud, plus the commie Alan Cranston, etc., etc., and so forth.

It’s true, about 59% of all mouth and throat cancer is being caused by the HPV virus, the same virus that is linked to genital warts and cervical cancer.
Of course all oral sex is not between heterosexual couples and since the onset of the AID virus, oral sex has become more common. So as the use of such as causes of mouth and throat cancer, such as chewing tobacco and pipes declined, the number of cases from HPV virus increased.
It didn’t help anything that young people believed Clinton when he claimed that oral sex wasn’t sex.
Maybe it was when he fell into Kathleen Turner’s wet lap in ROMANCING THE STONE.

Oral sex only causes throat cancer if you’re having it indiscriminately. It wasn’t the sex that caused his cancer. It was the lifestyle. Making this ridiculous ‘public service announcement’ as if all bear the risk equally is just stupid.
If ‘sex’ requires a barrier between you and her to be ‘safe’ ... (1) you’re not having ‘sex’ with her, you’re having sex with a condom, and (2) you ought to rethink whether you should be touching her at all.
