He’s a good guy, I think....

ONE MORE Vote for our side...

Boehner better look out and keep his nose clean if you know what I mean...

I grew up in the District, and it was solidly Democratic until Bill Emerson won the seat from Bill Burlison in 1981. When Congressman Emerson died of cancer, his wife Jo Ann succeeded him. Glad to see it will remain in Republican hands. Incidentally, the district also includes Cape Girardeau, Rush Limbaugh’s home town.

As a footnote, the last Dim to hold this seat (Bill Burlison) moved to Maryland after his defeat and kept running for office there, eventually winning election to a county council (typical Democratic serial campaigner, wants to stay on the government teat until he dies). More recently, he has moved back to Missouri and has lost two more elections for the state legislature. By the time he expires, Bill D will have been a part of more losing campaigns than Bob Shrum.

In this era, a Republican would have to be caught with a dead girl or a live boy to lose in the Eighth District. The new GOP Congressman is a solid conservative—more conservative than Ms. Emerson.

Gary Peters is the democrat running to replace Levin and he’s apparently running as a moderate and praising GOP leadership for the economic turn around in Michigan.

I think holding off on naming a republican to the ticket may be a good thing.

I agree. Peters is definately no independent. He is a true leftist.

It is a GOP district, but the holder of the seat was a GOP moderate.
Smith is a conservative.

Another Tea Partier is sent to DC.

He is an outstanding man IMO.

You couldn’t get a much more conservative candidate.

The fact that Peters is trying to play moderate tells me that they’re concerned about the Levin seat.

I can’t really explain the Hoekstra loss to Stabenow last year aside from the fact that Hoekstra turned to pudding after the primary. Interestingly enough, Stabenow got more votes than Obama.

Come on down to the Missouri Ozarks,
Taxes are low, cost of living is low, plenty of deer and panfish, we’re a bit warmer, and, when it gets really hot and sultry, throw yourself in the Lake of the Ozarks.
Did I mention low taxes ?

Jo Ann is a RINO.

I bet Bonehead is crying again.

I love Sarah as much as anyone but her endorsement had nothing to do with this win. There was no way Jason was losing this one! Mo 8 is about as red as it gets. I figured the Dems would pour lots of money into the district but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Guess they knew better.....

Withhold all donations to Republicans until they put the pressure on the Republicans to remove Bonehead as speaker.

I’ve been through the Ozarks and its definitely some beautiful country. I’m happy here in Michigan but the Ozarks are definitely worth a visit.

Bonehead is the worst. But Cantor and McCarthy are just as bad.

Yeah I like Sarah too but I voted against the guy she endorsed here in Michigan a few years ago too and I’m glad I did.
