When my husband first met me he had never had a cat before. Said he didn’t really like cats.
Then after getting to know my cats said, “They have their own little personality, don’t they?”
Now he says he never said, ‘I don’t like cats’.
and he is crazy about them:)
My cat is a deck cat meaning she'll only go outside on the back deck. She hunts by sticking her head thru the railings and watching for critters in the garden below. I can't leave her outside unattended anymore because she keeps catching voles and baby rabbits and bringing them into the dining room and dropping them on the rug.......usually alive. LOL!
My late dad, an Army veteran who participated in the Battle of the Bulge, was a dyed-in-the-wool cat lover.
My husband loves them, too. Cats and dogs seem to like him right back.
The whole “cats are sissy animals” idea is so wrong it’s stupid. The cat sitting next to you on the couch is a miniature tiger. He’s the world’s most perfect, efficient hunter and killer.
Felines are, IMO, truly the world’s coolest animal.
Former Marine, EX-Soldier, Father of three grown men, married for 40 years. Cats are great because you can feed them and they flip you off on the way to bed. My favorite breed of dog is the Pom, I have 2 of them.
Obviously I am secure in my sexuality.
Yup!
I mentioned my dad earlier. We had a cat who knew when he was due home from work every day. About 5-10 minutes beforehand, the cat would take up his position at the storm door, standing on his hind legs, watching. When my dad’s car came into view, the cat would start meowing with joy.
And no, it wasn’t mealtime, LOL.
Cats are very loving and welcoming.
That sucks.....I know exactly how you feel.....I have a few very special cats i’ll never get over either. I don’t think it’s feminine quality at all— to like cats....it’s just a recognition of their ultimate coolness.
My wife swears that our cats know what my car sounds like when I’m backing into the driveway.
I know a Viet nam vet....who met a cat where he worked. Fed it, and more showed up. I got them all fixed and he fed them. He took a few home and then he and his wife had 5 rescues. He also feeds a bunch where he works....and he will go through a blizzard to feed them. Once you get to know a cat, you’re just hooked.
I have 5 cats a dog and 6 grandkids. I like the animals I love the grandkids.
Wot a bunch of BS...I like cats a lot; have 4-barn cats now that insist on being petted and fooled with every day; they follow me and the dogs around. They are great kitties. But Mrs. Cuttnhorse would laugh at the patient, easygoing, and accepting crapola. LOL! I can hear her laughing now.
I’m convinced she’s right!
What a lovely story. God bless that man and his wife.
LOL! You ever see this one, the bunny who takes a bath....

We have 4-barn cats...all Manx from the same litter. They are all crazy and I laugh at them every day. They follow, (stalk) me and the Rotties and the dogs get along fine with them. Plus, the mouse problem dissapeared.
My two kitties do.
My father (a quiet type, and a WW2 vet) always said he hated cats and forbid us to have them. The forbidding was done through Mom, since Dad rarely said much.
Well, we got them anyway, through the years, pets all over the place. He played with the cats. They followed him around. I don’t think we ever had a cat he didn’t enjoy, and vice versa.
But he never would have admitted it.
I love that pic, except the screen goes funny, like misty or something, when I see it
Cheers,
Jim
