Name the Best, Worst Rush Limbaugh Guest Hosts

Name the BEST and the WORST (in your opinion) of the Rush Limbaugh guest hosts when he is absent from the EIB airwaves. Here is my humble opinion:

The BEST guest host is Mark Steyn who substituted for El Rushbo yesterday. Usually I miss listening to Rush but Steyn is so good that he actually makes for an enjoyable break. His wit and polished accent makes for good listening.

The WORST guest host had to be Bill Cunningham. Thankfully, I think I only heard him once and that was one time too many. Cunningham's delivery throughout the show was like one long LOUD screech. Painful on the ears and it actually started to give me a headache.

I also remember another guest host whose name is thankfully forgotten who spent a big chunk of the show ignoring current events in favor of playing silly number (or word) games on the air but Cunningham stands out in memory as truly annoying.

I like Williams because he has a technical know how that Rush lacks. He provides an essential nutrient that’s missing in a Rush only diet. I especially like it when Williams has Sowell on as a guest. I love hearing their back and forth.

Steyn is great too. When Rush is gone but Steyn is filling in I’m still happy.

I liked Hedgecock for his sheer aggressiveness.

Mark Davis is a nice guy, almost too nice, but makes up for it with good insights.

Mark Belling’s over the top midwestern accent bugs me but he has good insights too. Sort of wonkish in a good way.

Urbanski has Rush’s drama but not his insight.

The rest I can’t remember.

Long, long ago around the time of Columbine. He was ok, friends with Rush (according to Rush) but then he got his show on whatever channel and started he wide swing to the dark side. He started attacking Rush and that was the end of that. I remember Rush being very polite to Chris even when he went nuts, never retaliating, and only in the past few years giving him the business on his show but only after Matthews “deleted” Rush as friend, as it were.

Walter Williams is the best when he calls Thomas Sowell and talk economics and history. Mark Styne is so funny. Styne is a genius. I love listening to his monologues.

Rather be a RINO than linked to Republican greats like McCain and Graham.

Howie Carr from WRKO in Boston would be an excellent guest host for Rush!

“Black by popular demand.......”

Walter Williams was my favorite long before he granted us ‘White folk’ absolution and a pass for any ‘racial sins’ ANY White before us may have committed.

Also his visits with Thomas Sowell were classic...

Chris Plante has become my #1 fav talk radio guy, even above Rush. Ever since Chris was fired, then brought back, IMO he’s the very best of talk radio. And I’ve been a huge Rush fan for 20 years.

“Jason Lewis was great. Too bad he’s not on anymore. Wonder why?”

Because Jason has his own nationally syndicated program now.

I heard the Matthews show. It was a thousand years ago (well, maybe the early to mid-90s) before he completely lost his mind. Don’t you remember when he was very much horrified about Clinton? Times change!

I’m a year and a half late to this party, but I feel the need to put in my two cents.

I ca- ca- can’t I can’t stand I can’t stand Mark Steyn Mark Steyn! Drives drives me nuts! drives me nuts! SPIT IT OUT ALREADY!

One of the things I love about Rush is he rarely steps on the ends of the argument by other people. He let’s them get it out. Hannity, Stey stey steyn, Elling, Beck, almost all of them are outright rude to their callers and especially to the opposition.

One more reason why Rush is king.

1. Dr. Thomas Sowell
2. Mark Stein
3. Dr. Walter Williams

Thomas Sowell was not a frequent host, but I actually preferred listening to him over Rush. I agree with a previous poster who said that it is a shame that most Americans will never hear Dr. Sowell speak.

Steyn is good content but he has a voice for writing.

Worst - Erickson(sp?)

I would be happy to see what you suggest, Steyn one day a week. Heck maybe even two days a week. I understand those who complain about Steyn so maybe more than two days a week would be too many.

Mary Matlin was the worst guest host I have heard. I wanted to like her, but someone called in about her sleeping with the enemy during the 1992 campaign and she was so stupid she ascribed it to sexism and failed to understand she got that question but he husband didn’t BECAUE HER SIDE LOST.
