That’s interesting that the penalty is different because of the age of the victim. What if Zimmerman had been that same age?

Also, does the jury have the option of finding him guilty of manslaughter, or is it 2nd degree or acquittal?

You are aware that many acts involving minors are crimes when the same acts between consenting adults are not?

Sex between two consenting 17 year olds is not a crime. But if one of the 17 year old is a little older and becomes 18 before the other, it becomes statutory rape.

Same concept.
