I know that.

I know someone who works for the fraud detection division for a bank and she’s told me that.

I wouldn’t dream of it because I don’t trust any TSA agents any further than I can throw them.

I’ve heard stories of the theft that goes on from them.

If he was disabled, the social security services keep close tabs on his finances. And they WILL use police against you, wiz what the buggers are trying to do to Mesta, through me.

When I oppose gun control laws to people, I tell them that Prohibition didn’t work. The WOD isn’t working. And gun control isn’t going to work.

People will get guns on the black market just like they did with alcohol and are doing with drugs.

It’s amazing how fast the subject can change.

Am I right in stating that in some states if you carry a sufficient amount of cash the Police may take it from you on suspicion it is drug money

Interestingly, social services uses the police against homeschoolers.

If police focused on their job of protecting and serving, they wouldn't be becoming the heavy hand of the government to subjugate us.

I haven’t heard of it yet.

I suppose I should have said that I’m surprised that I haven’t heard of it happening here yet.

I do not know if that's the case but it would not surprise me IN THE LEAST.

Of course. My point being that you are automatically a suspect if searched and found to be carrying 10k or more of your own cash around if you choose to do so.

The pols who vote in such unconstitutional, tyrannical laws, and the appointees who take it upon themselves to enforce them need to start swinging from lamp posts. Otherwise they will just find more fodder to send our way.

Ultimately, if we do not stop it soon at the polling place (and it is probably too late...but one can hope), it will come down to the people who vote in pols like this and want them doing it (meaning the folks who have willingly accepted the government largess they want to enjoy from the producers) and the quislings who set all of that up and enable it, will have to be ruthlessly put down by the people who love liberty, individual responsibility, and free will...and true ownership and determination of their own property and course in life without such government/state interference.

the money was actually part of an approximately one-million dollar advance on an inheritance he had received

Thanks a lot msm and police. Now the local criminal element knows he keeps cash on hand and could be ransomed for a good bit of money.

Actually it happens everyday in a little bit of a different way. US Military retirees living in the Philippines must prove the source of funds used to pay for their medical bills. Tricare demands that for all medical bills of $500.00 or more the retiree must, (in addition to the Official Receipt showing the bill was paid in full), provide proof of the source of the funds used to pay the medical bill. This means that the retiree must withdraw the funds from the bank so that there is a paper trail for the source of funds.

Many retirees maintain a home safe with a few thousand dollars for emergency needs since you can’t get admitted to a hospital without making a large deposit and must pay the hospital bill in full before they will allow you to be discharged, (and they can physically restrain you from leaving the hospital until the bill is paid).

Checks and credit cards are not universally accepted or used in the Philippines since this is a cash and carry society. Thus, the retiree has to go to the bank and withdraw the funds prior to, or during the hospital stay in order to be able to prove the source of funds. Failure to do so will result in denial of Tricare reimbursement for the medical care, (less the retiree’s 25% co-pay and deductible).

Coming soon to a country near you.

I could see obamacare going this road.

What a mess and what a terrible disservice to our veterans.

Nah... Here in the US they would arrest the money by charging it as having been used in drug trafficking.

He’d never see a dime of it back with no charges filed. After all, he didn’t commit the crime... The money did.

And yes, our laws are just that screwed up...
