Is that a blemish or a teardrop tattoo? If the latter, not the first person he’s killed...
That would be good as well but racking is more immediate and is perfect for shorter attention spans; like public hanging which drew crowds, with their kids to teach the lessons of sin. I remember my grandfather telling me about the public hangings that used to be carried out on the hill two blocks from my house. It had an immediate and lasting effect on me as a young kid. It had that effect because the last one was only 10 years before I was born.
oh yes we must not forget that some people who occasionally post on Free Republic are suspicious of law enforcement officers. This is especially true for those that have dogs. Still, in order for you to make such a statement, you will have to provide at least one example of when a poster on this public forum, not screened before being allowed to post, gave advice never to provide witness information to law enforcement officers. You were so bold as to provide a direct quote but neglected to provide attribution.
I say, empty your gun and take the weapon from the freshly killed thug. I've seen too many movies where people thought they killed the bad guy and he attacks again. I assume this happens from time to time in real life.
The problem is, how do you get the jump on the assailant when he walks in with the gun in his hand pointed at you.
Most places like 7/11 or a small gas-mart can’t afford a full time security guard.
What a pain.
;^)
In an older wiser age there’d likely be serious outrage. The sheriff would hardly have to muster the posse to catch the culprit, it would be volunteering at the news. Nothing’s perfect but it ought to be harder and riskier for armed robbers to ply their trade than it is now. It’s more than just a generic “pain.”
I agree.
Seems to me the best way to handle it is to have the cashier in a locked security booth. Then you have stuff walking out and you can’t stop it, but at least you’re not dead.
See the tag...
Where’s Jay Z to speak out about the dangers of working while white? Rest in peace.
“you will have to provide at least one example “
Sure:
“Remember people, never talk to the police. Even if you’re a witness don’t do it.”
I replied to that post with: “ if you insist upon using ‘never,’ then you are arguing against flagging down a police car and pointing out a murderer, rapist or child abduction.”
He responded with:
Yes, I mean and meant Never talk to the police directly. Ever. No exceptions.
If you wish to know who posted that, I will FReepmail you that info.
This was the first time I noticed there are other FReepers that believes in the “no snitching” code.
“suspicious of law enforcement”. . .of course, but some are absolutely paranoid.
Or where the cashier can choose when to leave the booth. Most are told just to report small thefts and not try to catch the crook.
And you should serve God who is the father of all common sense; don’t worry about any “freeper” (and after all, on the internet, nobody knows you’re a dog). There is no other inflexible rule except that there is no other inflexible rule.
That’s best IMO. Heck, call 911 and sit back and relax.
Well, a multiple pattern in the chest area would have stopping power for sure, and a headshot is more challenging than a torso hit, if from a distance. Main thing is the criminals are a) down for the count for good and your family/business are safe; and b) the thug’s carcass is clearing inside the premises of your store, hopefully win all exit wounds out the back and not front. Oh, did I say it does not help if you are white and the assailant is black? (Expect CNN et. al. within minutes, maybe even before the coroner).
“how do you get the jump on the assailant when he walks in with the gun in his hand pointed at you.”
I’ve seen videos that with some training, it can be done. Has something to do with the “element of surprise”, reflex’s, etc. And I don’t think one needs to be some super fast gun.
Perhaps so. I don’t think it’s likely that you’re going to hire people in at minimum wage who need to be trained to disarm a person with a gun pointed at them out of the blue.
The "correctional" system seems to be failing us.
