1. What is the most unethical thing you have witness or been a part of in either college or your profession?

A muslim boss who walked in on the first day and proceeded to tell a woman he didn't like her because she was a woman. Then told a left handed person he didn't like them either.

2. What is the most important thing you have learned?

When it's time to close a door.

3. What is the most important mistake you have ever made? Why?"Important" really doesn't fit the question. Ok, probably calling that to your attention. Guess I didn't get the job.

The second reason is that a manhole cover can be rolled rather than carried.

The third reason is the that the main job of a manhole cover is to support weight and a square cover, given the longest span of 1.4 times a side, would have to be considerably heavier.

Do I get the job?

Yes, but why is a manhole round?

I'd answer but it'd get me kicked off FR.

"If I told you to go out and wash all the windows in New York City, how would you go about it?”

Does "Wait for it to rain" count as a creative answer?

Yes, but why is a manhole round?

To quote The Four Lads:

Why they changed it I can't say
People just liked it better that way

I suspect that one of the reasons is that the original manhole covers were crosswise slices of whole logs that were then used as manhole covers.

Iron used to be very expensive and this reason would fit nicely, particularly if the only vehicles were horse drawn wagons and carriages.

Do I get the job?

I ask a variation on #3, i.e. tell me about a time that you or a team you were on failed. Why did it fail and what did you learn from it?

I distrust anyone who says they’ve never failed.

I’d tell Bloomie that window dirt caused global warming and was harmful to children. He would ban all dirty windows. Problem solved. Next.

“”A penguin walks through that door right now wearing a sombrero. What does he say and why is he here?”

Nothing! He’s an F’n PENGUIN!

Next thing ya know, you’ll be asking a question starting with: “Two guys are married....”

Why are manhole covers round?

Because manholes are round.

“If I told you to go out and wash all the windows in New York City, how would you go about it?”

I wouldn’t. I’ve never been inclined to blindly obey the orders of idiots - even after 25 years in the military!

Oh well...another job I guess I won’t get.

Interview questions like that I always thought were hard when I was younger, but when I got older I realized that they just want you to think your way through calmly and rationally. You just think about the question and answer it.

It always prepares to be ready for an interview, I got a new job two weeks ago by having a "brag book" of my work ready in all the areas that the company was looking for and making a kick ass visual resume. Proper preparation prevents poor performance.

“If I told you to go out and wash all the windows in New York City, how would you go about it?”

After it rained, call it done.

Because your parameters did not specify “wash the windows until clean”.
