SACRAMENTO, CA, August 13, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Governor Jerry Brown has signed California's new 'transgender' law, making the state the fifth where it is legal for self-identifying “transgender” children to use bathrooms, showers, locker rooms, and changing rooms designated for children of the opposite biological sex.
"Now, every transgender student in California will be able to get up in the morning knowing that when they go to school as their authentic self they will have the same fair chance at success as their classmates,” said Mason Davis, Executive Director of the Transgender Law Center.
But Peter Sprigg, Senior Fellow for Policy Studies at the Family Research Council, disagrees. He told LifeSiteNew.com that parents “should be outraged at the prospect of biological males sharing restrooms and locker rooms with their daughters, and competing with daughters in sports events."
Sprigg said he found it “bizarre” that some people have decided that “when a person's subjective feelings or emotions” are in conflict with the biological reality of their sex, “we should treat the subjective feelings as being what defines someone's identity.”
"What is especially shocking with AB 1266, however, is that California already has a law barring ‘discrimination’ based on ‘gender identity,’” he added.
“[T]only purpose of this added law is to assure that the law does, in fact, apply to the most extreme possible applications--the use of facilities segregated by sex, such as restrooms, locker rooms, and showers; and programs segregated by sex because of the biological differences between the sexes, such as sports.”
The new law affects more than 6.2 million K-12 students in the state.
“California parents are appalled that Governor Jerry Brown has again attacked the sensibilities of parents and the innocence of children,” SaveCalfornia.com, a pro-family advocacy group, stated.
The passage of AB 1226 was preceded by a settlement won by a young girl, who was granted permission to use the boys’ facilities, play on all-boys teams and stay overnight in hotel rooms with boys during field trips. The incoming freshman says she believes she is a boy trapped in a boy’s body but has female reproductive organs.
The girl’s parents filed a discrimination lawsuit after the school district forbade her from sleeping in a hotel room with boys without a chaperone on two occasions.
The Obama administration intervened and pressured the school district into the settlement and change of policy, saying that failure to do so constitutes sexual discrimination against “students who do not conform to sex stereotypes.”
Parents worry specifically about these sorts of scenarios. “Not only is transsexuality unnatural and unhealthy, AB 1266 also opens the door to fraud because there are porn-influenced boys who will try to see girls partially or fully naked by declaring themselves 'female' for the day,” SaveCalifornia said.
California follows Colorado, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Washington in passing such a law.
So we’ll see if the moribund GOP in this state can make an issue of this.
I know lots of self described Liberal mommies who will go into apoplexy if they think some deviant (no matter how young) tries to walk into their girl’s bathroom.

This girl says she’s a boy in a girl’s body. So, does she like girls or boys? If she likes girls is she a “lesbian”. If she’s a boy and likes boy is she gay? This is so confusing.
Why should girls be forced to strip for boys?
On the other side, it means boys will be forced to flash girls.
It is way past time for the sane people in this state to take back control.

A Houston, TX 10 year old girl was arrested for "raping" a 4 year old boy. Looks like we are there already.
So which rest room will Brown be using...? He won’t...he’ll be peeing in his pants he’s so old.
Within 5 years this will be forced on Catholic and Orthodox Jewish private schools as well, yet those groups were silent when this was debated.
You know, if that option had been available to me and my friends in HS or junior high... I’m sure several of us would’ve gotten together and said yeah, we were feeling femine one day and gone into the girls locker room. I’m sure it would have ended in screams, slaps, and detention, but we would have done it. We wouldn’t have been alone or the only group of guys to think of it. Probably would’ve been some girls returning the favor too. These idiots have no idea of the breadth of the door they’ve opened.

Its based on “feelings” - one day I could be Johhny, using the male facilities. Next day, I could be Johanna and the teachers would have to allow me access to the girl’s facilities.
AND, the teachers ARE NOT allowed to tell my parents that I might have identity issues that might require professional help.
ALSO, lets say I make some girl uncomfortable - ogling her in the girl’s locker room. She might tell her boyfriend, brother, or father - and I then get beat up. Then, I sue the school, the schoolboard, and the state for “forseeable consequences” and make a boatload of cash. The boyfriend, brother, or father gets charged with assault.
LASTLY, this allows boys to play on the “girls” sports teams. It is just a matter of time before a high school fields a “girls” basketball team with a starting five of 6’2” [and taller] all-league boys ...
This is nonsense. Some girl’s parent will sue to get the law overturned on public safety issues. It’ll get to federal court eventually and the law might even be upheld by the 9th Circuit - but when it gets to SCOTUS, it’ll be struck down.
So, WHY even bother to pass this assinine law in the first place ...
