Is there any tv station that is showing the 911 ceremonies without talking over it?

I was 13 Years Old and the School I went too didn't have TV's in Every Room so I had to Wait until 5th Hour History Class to watch what was happening, just in time to watch the 2nd Tower Fall.

Never Forget? Hmm, Yes But Many Have.

Heh, Thanks!

Although I feel actually pretty bad when I meet people who have no Memory of 9/11, they were like 6.

I was just old enough to understand what happened and that to Remember a Time before 9/11.

Forgetfulness occurs when those who have been long inured to civilized order can no longer remember a time in which they had to wonder whether their crops would grow to maturity without being stolen or their children sold into slavery by a victorious foe. …

They forget that in time of danger, in the face of the Enemy, they must trust and confide in each other, or perish.

They forget, in short, that there has ever been a category of human experience called the Enemy. And that, before 9/11, was what had happened to us. The very concept of the Enemy had been banished from our moral and political vocabulary. An enemy was just a friend we hadn’t done enough for — yet. Or perhaps there had been a misunderstanding, or an oversight on our part — something that we could correct. And this means that that our first task is that we must try to grasp what the concept of the Enemy really means.

The Enemy is someone who is willing to die in order to kill you. And while it is true that the Enemy always hates us for a reason — it is his reason, and not ours.

Civilization and Its Enemies

The first president I remember was Nixon and the news every night showed film of soldiers in firefights in some God forsaken jungle.

I thank God we didn’t have 24/7 news back then.

200 years from now, I want their children’s children’s children’s children to cower and cringe in fear whenever they hear the sounds of jet engines overhead because their legends tell of fire from the sky.

I want them to hide in dark caves and holes in the earth, shivering with terror whenever they hear the roar of diesel engines because the tales of their ancestors talk about metal monsters crawling over the earth, spitting death and destruction.

I want their mothers to be able to admonish them with “If you don’t behave, the Pale Destroyers will come for you”, and that will be enough to reduce them to quivering obesience.

I want the annihilation to be so complete that their mythology will tell them of the day of judgment when the stern gods from across the sea .. the powerful ‘Mericans .. destroyed their forefathers’ wickedness.

My sister woke me up, told me something happened and I watched it for hours and got online at 33.6 kpbs and posted about it. I remember posting a bunch of newspaper front pages about it but that might have been the next day.

I was getting ready to go to the library, which opened at 9:00. I had the TV on, and was listening to the news, when I noticed that there seemed to be excited voices from the newspeople. I then saw the replay of the first plane hitting the World Trade Center. I knew immediately that something was terribly wrong, and I continued to stand there in front of the TV in shock and watched the second plane hit.

I believe that it was 9/12/01 or 9/13/01 when I first found Free Republic.
