Thanks for the heads up about the first rate Andrew McCarthy article. Here is a passage that really appealed to me:

Obama is not vindicating the Constitution. He is selectively mining the law’s provisions, as well as picking winners and losers in its enforcement, based on political considerations. In our constitutional system, it is the assigned duty of Congress to make those choices; the president’s job is to enforce the law as written. If the law cannot be enforced as written, it should not be enforced at all.

McCarthy has offered up another argument: Congress is merely restoring the constitutional purpose and prohibiting the executive from usurping article 1 powers. That kind of language will not appeal to the electorate, it has to be cast in terms of fairness but to us conservatives, well, we get emotional over the violation of every article.

Noteworthy, in that he swore he wouldn’t. He must really not like having his feet held to the fire. Good. Let’s hope that other Republicans that support Obamacare start feeling the flames licking their feet as well.
