Anybody hear Rand Paul on Hannity today? Rand is going establishement......

Posted on 09/25/2013 5:32:56 PM PDT by teg_76

Today Rand Paul went on Hannity, and Hannity did a great job grilling him. He continually asked why the Republicans can't stand as strong as the Democrats, and Paul just kept saying that the Republicans are not united enough and don't have the leverage. He said he didn't agree with Cruz's strategy and that a government shutdown would be hurtful to the Republican party. It really could have been Mitch McConnell talking...who by the way Rand Paul has already endorsed. Hannity practically hung up on Rand Paul, and that really surprised me because you never hear Hannity treat Republicans that way. I was very proud of how he handled the interview with Rand. I'm really disappointed in how quickly Rand seems to be moving away from the people and into the establishment. Anybody else catch the interview?

I’m sure Paul has been talking to the establishment to try and single Cruz out and leave Crus in the cold while ole Paul will get some backing form the establishment.

Besides Paul is pro homosexual, pro open borders where as Cruz is the real deal as a conservative.

I heard the entire interview. Paul sounded extremely squishy and like a defeatist. Claiming that all the RINOs were being treated unfairly because they all hate Obamacare too. But they know they will get blamed by the media. Hannity wasn’t buying it. And basically hung up on him.

Over the past year Hannity has become much more hardline. He had Dana Perino about crying last night, referring to her type as squishes and wimps.

Hannity as much as called him a coward and one of many (ever so politely and with patience, of course).

What Rand is doing is TRIANGULATING, obviously.

He is playing the long game early.

Paul has committed to voting with Cruz on cloture, as a side note.

Paul has publicly stated he will vote against cloture? Because I've seen conflicting accounts of this all day.

It fits. I always see Rand as someone who is less interested in actually “bucking the establishment” as opposed to working “libertarianism INTO the establishment.” The McConnell endorsement, the waffling amnesty stance, and several other things have tended to point this way. His overall track-record since being in office has been pretty solid. But I remain wary of him. This sort of accomodation towards the establishment, coupled with my concern he’s holding back on some more extreme, big-L libertarian views, just keeps me from ever wanting to jump on his bandwagon. Particularly his wishy-washiness on amnesty (and indeed, libertarians used to be very vocal on being pro open-borders).

Anyway, the Palin-Cruz brand of “tea party” conservatism is more my avenue.

I got the impression that Rand was against Ted doing this, but decided to be supportive because of the overall goal, and because Ted supprted his filibuster. Rand is right that the Republicans will ultimately lose this particular fight, but wrong on how important making the effort is. He’s a bit defeatist about it, which is disappointing.

Dana Perino? She is a squish. I would love to have seen it.

She is in the mold of Laura and Barbara, a Bush machine operator all the way. A lap doggette and paper thin.

Rand basically waffled today in his interview with Glenn. He seems to be switching from a principled conservative/liberation to a squishy Republican.

I didn’t catch Rand Paul on Hannity, but I did get the opportunity to hear Ted Cruz’s interview on Rush Limbaugh’s radio show today. It was amazing. After 20 hours on the Senate floor doing a filibuster against Obamacare, he had time to talk to US via talk radio. And he voiced the same truths that many of us have come to understand: The reason why the Republicans on Capital Hill can’t get anything accomplished is because all the leaders have been there too long. They’re old, entrenched, and completely out of touch with We The People who hired them. They think they’re our rulers. They have forgotten that they work for us. I don’t know about you, but me and my fellow activists are working hard to primary out as many of those complacent old pharts as possible.

Yes and you are right. Sean is going conservative and Rand is going establishment.

Sean is a reflection of the GOP....

Notice how after he is losing his show’s share he is becoming more conservative...

Missed Hannity, but saw Rand and Mitch chit-chat on C-Span tonight.

Rand has veered to the left to try and stake an early claim for the middle of the road moderate vote.

Being an “Always surrender before a fight” Surrender Republican Federal Politician does have its disadvantages:

1.) You will never get elected to be POTUS;
2.) If you sit on the fence, the political splinters will get you;
3.) If you stay in the middle of the road, you will get run over.

I heard Hannity talking to John Cornyn

Good grief, Hannity...this cowardly weasel only wanted on your show because he's getting completely pulverized on ALL social media, in his district offices (since he won't answer his DC phones), all across the Great State of Texas and the USofA.

NO COWARDLY CORNYN IN 2014!!

I will do all in MY power to get this lying RINO voted out of office.

Still say Rand is playing the long game early, trying for the broadest coalition, lining up his chips, and has no intention of getting pigeon holed into one dimensional support, unable to break out.

Sarah would never do that, I don’t believe, do you?

Cruz will have do what Rand is doing, if he is going to be a contender, so we have to decide if we want to lean with him when he takes the curve, or not.

DO NOT turn on the Hannity program right now. It is a freakin’ circus. He’s invited on the most nutjob liberals he could find to scream about Obamacare.

Jehmooo Green is sporting a mohawk like she’s Jean Beauviour.
Tamara Holder (Jesse Jackson’s personal mistress) just accused ted Cruz of “raping America like John Wayne Gacy”

This is f*cking sick.

Rand “Afraid to Defund 0Socialism” is listed as a big ‘ol question mark for cloture on the DefundIt.com/Senate Conservatives site. He’s non-committal, at this time.

Actually, it just doesn’t matter anymore. We have become a world of drones (idiots) who vote for benefits! Protest all you wish, it will not change - yes, we are doomed to socialism. After that, only a violent change is able to change things.l

No.

He’s a liar.
