<< “I liked the vertical beam that they put between Skyler and Walt in the middle of the frame. It emphasized how separate they were at that point.” >>

I did too.

Over this entire series, I never saw them say “I love you” to each other, which was sad. (Maybe I just missed it?) And i thought their final scene could have shown a little more emotional attachment, especially since they both knew it was their last goodbye. She knew he was protecting her; I just thought she should have at least thanked him for it.

That vertical beam was probably used in the scene so Walt could “suddenly appear” out of nowhere, but like you said, it was great symbolism.

You’re kidding-—after all the lying? No way.

Actually one of the few sex scenes in the show followed Skyler hearing a text message from Walt telling her that he loved her an the kids.

However by the end of the show I think Walt was realizing that maybe he didn't love her. He did admit that the drugs were never for her or the family but because it made him feel alive. He chose to die in a meth lab.

You just knew there was someone or something else in that scene, but it was still a surprise when Walt was revealed.
