Snopes, About.com, etc. All say this false, Dhimmitude appears nowhere in the bill.

One comment was that it was in a draft. Would not matter, it is was is in the final bill.

So be careful if you receive this.

One thing though. Muslims don’t buy insurance because they consider it a form of gambling. Heard it but can’t verify the truth of it.

I did some word searches in the 1024 page download of the so-called Patient Protection ad Affordable Care Act, Public law 111-148-Mar. 23, 2010.

I searched for Dhimmitude, Sharia and Muslim. None of those words were found in the bill.

I think we should start a new church that opposes government mandates to purchase products as a religious idea.

Unlikely as if it were true, peeps would have been screaming bloody murder for the last 3 years.

Perhaps they get an exemption like the Amish.

(g) Members of certain religious faiths
(1) Exemption
Any individual may file an application (in such form and
manner, and with such official, as may be prescribed by
regulations under this chapter) for an exemption from the tax
imposed by this chapter if he is a member of a recognized
religious sect or division thereof and is an adherent of
established tenets or teachings of such sect or division by
reason of which he is conscientiously opposed to acceptance of
the benefits of any private or public insurance which makes
payments in the event of death, disability, old-age, or
retirement or makes payments toward the cost of, or provides
services for, medical care (including the benefits of any
insurance system established by the Social Security Act). Such
exemption may be granted only if the application contains or is
accompanied by -
(A) such evidence of such individual’s membership in, and
adherence to the tenets or teachings of, the sect or division
thereof as the Secretary may require for purposes of
determining such individual’s compliance with the preceding
sentence, and
(B) his waiver of all benefits and other payments under
titles II and XVIII of the Social Security Act on the basis of
his wages and self-employment income as well as all such
benefits and other payments to him on the basis of the wages
and self-employment income of any other person,
and only if the Commissioner of Social Security finds that -
(C) such sect or division thereof has the established tenets
or teachings referred to in the preceding sentence,
(D) it is the practice, and has been for a period of time
which he deems to be substantial, for members of such sect or
division thereof to make provision for their dependent members
which in his judgment is reasonable in view of their general
level of living, and
(E) such sect or division thereof has been in existence at
all times since December 31, 1950.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/theapothecary/2013/08/28/white-house-publishes-final-regulations-for-obamacares-individual-mandate-seven-things-you-need-to-know/

5. Many older individuals will be exempt from the mandate

If you need to buy insurance on your own, you’re exempt from the individual mandate if the cost of your coverage is more than 8 percent of your household income. (The percentage is adjusted, over time, using a somewhat complex formula.) This means many older people—who pay higher premiums than younger people—will be exempt from the mandate altogether.

6. If you don’t file a tax return, you’re exempt

You’re also exempt if your income is below the poverty line, or if you don’t file an IRS tax return. Indeed, if you add up all of these exemptions, MIT economist and Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber estimates that 40 percent of people who are uninsured are exempt from the individual mandate.

7. ‘Members of recognized religious sects’ and American Indians are also exempt

If you’re a member of a “federally-recognized Indian tribe,” congratulations! You’re also exempt from the individual mandate. This is in part because the Indian Health Service offers government-run health care to members of such tribes. Members of a “recognized religious sect or division,” as specified in Section 1402(g)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code, are also exempt. So, you might be asking yourself: which “religious sects” are exempt?

The Internal Revenue Code exempts an individual from certain taxes if he is “a member of a recognized religious sect or division thereof and is an adherent of established tenets or teachings of such sect or division by reason of which he is conscientiously opposed to acceptance of the benefits of any private or public insurance which makes payments in the event of death, disability, old-age, or retirement or makes payments toward the cost of, or provides services for, medical care,” including Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

Your “sect” has to have been in continuous existence since December 31, 1950, and the Commissioner of Social Security must agree that your sect “has the established tenets or teachings” consistent with opposition to medical benefits. While there are some on the Internet who believe that this religious exemption applies to Islam, it doesn’t appear that way to me, as Muslims are not exempt from Social Security. Instead, the exemption is meant for groups like the Amish.

So if you really hate the individual mandate, you don’t have to burn your Obamacare card—just join the Amish or an Indian tribe!

The corker is that the email cites the very snopes link that debunks it. Cruz birfers are not the only droolers out there.

You can read the Act here. The dhimmi word appears nowhere in it, neither on page 107 nor anywhere else in the 2409 pages.

The exemption requirements are right out of the IRS Form 4019 exemption form used to exempt people from social security taxes.

And be careful traveling overseas. I friend of mine was on vacation in one of those foreign countries where Americans go on vacation and she woke up in a bathtub full of ice and there were neat little stitches on an incision on her side she doesn’t remember ever having before!!!
