So the zombies are at your door. Death is upon you, but the gun shop is just a block away. You make a run for it, and you make it to the most extensive armory for miles. Time to make a decision: Which guns do you grab? Contrary to popular belief, not every gun will do the job the same, so to help make up your mind on which guns will save your life, here are my eight best guns for the zombie apocalypse.

A 22 rifle is the “if you only had one gun to survive with” gun.

You bring up an interesting point. I was looking for a self defense pistol for my wife and was thinking .380 because it is small. Then all these folks said that I needed 9mm and some said it didn’t have enough stopping power and we could find compact .45’s.

Then I imagined a case where she might actually need it. She pulls it out and points it at the perp. Is he gonna say, “Heck, that’s just a weenie 9mm.” and proceeds to rob her.

That’s when I started looking for a .22.

That said, for practicality, cost, etc. I think one of the little kel-tek 9mm’s might be a good choice.

re: “It is best to repent of your sins and accept Jesus as your personal Savior and Lord. That way you can leave all of your preparation supplies to those who are left behind.”

I agree with your first sentence. However, there are LOTs of opinions on when a rapture occurs. It may not occur until after the tribulation. I hope your view is correct, but there is not guarantee of that view.

Maybe in an A-10 warty-hog.

That's where that particular beast normally resides.

Lately it is easier to find primers to reload centerfire than it is to find 22 long rifle ammo.

Powder is getting hard to find though.

we landed the Citation at an airbase at an air base in CA or AZ (I don’t remember which) where the A-10’s were doing touch and goes in pairs.

The Thunderbirds were practicing their show with A-10s at my base once. It was strange and wonderful at the same time. I believe it was 1978.

22 lr is probably harder to find because of the sense that we’re gonna start needing that “if you had only one gun to survive with” gun.

For the price I don’t you can beat a Chinese SKS. I’ve seen them in the pawn shops for $80. The ammo is cheap and there is a wide variety of parts, accessories and customizing options on the market.

If I were to own firearms (which, of course, I do not, because they are DANGEROUS) I would select an AR-15 and a Glock 23.

I think this might be more effective:

But it’s going to be harder to find enough gas for a Chevy Suburban when the pumps go down. The bug is much more fuel efficient.
