Looking at the picture it looks nice. It has a good pitch on the roof most singlewides and double-wides don't have. That is a plus because the water runs off and roof last longer. One word of advice. No matter how tempting don't get a skylight in the roof. The ones they put in manufactured housing don't hold up that great and are notorious for leaking.

There is another possibility. Look for a small two room cabin someone has had for a summer home and grew tired of. Luxuries are also the first thing a lot of people put on the market cheap to raise money. It would save you some set up cost like power, water, septic, etc.

I could actually pick up some free lots around a lake near here, but the unit I put on them has to be bigger than 450 sq. ft and this little one is 399. You can get permission to put something smaller on it but it’s a rigmarole to do so and you must go thru the HOA, blah, blah, blah. I’d rather not do all that just to be told no. And don’t really want to live in a park anyway. But people are giving their lots away for real cheap and free.

If it works out, it works out. If not, then I will stay where I am...be stretched financially...and keep looking for something to bring in income.

Have been looking daily at Craigslist to see what’s available in land and other small properties. Texas is not big on this type of housing except around the lakes otherwise I’d rent one if I could find a nice one.

Here is the builder I wanted to go with. Very nice and good construction.
