How old is the battery? Up here in Minnesota batteries only last about 4 years. A stale battery can lead to all manner of odd behavior.
We had a Chrysler Pacifica that did that. Just out of no where it was running just fine but then turned off. Just off. Dead. It would then restart, suggesting something reset, like the computer.
Well, it was the computer. Dealer had a recall for this and all was fine after that. We traded it for a Rubicon.
Probably not related, but in 2006 my 95 Wrangler suddenly wouldn’t get past 40MPH. Checked and replaced all of the fuel crap. Turned out that the crap that was SUPPOSED to be inside my catastrophic converter (That’s what I call the darned thing) dislodged and got rammed into the tailpipe. Had to cut it off and clear it out to fix it.
What a PITA.
Jeep’s still running great to this day -and we’re getting snow tomorrow. YAYS!
They have MAF sensor cleaners, just released this year as a matter of fact. But it has a 50/50 chance of working. Sometimes it’s just dead. The item is below.

Good luck then.. Check ‘crank sensor’ as this seems to be a common defect in Wranglers. Otherwise, look at exposed wire for electrical shorts. Check your gas cap, sometimes it can be as silly as that but I think your problem would not be as ‘sudden’ if it were that.
‘Sudden’ to me indicates electrical and/or sensor.
