His dad did the eight hour epic WAR AND PEACE and WATERLOO back in 1967 and 1971. I have both of those in my DVD collection.
I also have a German film STALINGRAD to go along with it.
If he filmed it like his dad did W & P he will build the entire city for a set.
Bondrchuk’s War and Peace makes the Henry Fonda version look like Cliff’s Notes.
A few years I ordered a Soviet-made film from Netflix, called “Come And See.” It was about partisan activity, harassing the Wehrmacht as they were retreating. English subtitles of course.
