The legendary Swedish pop group ABBA is mulling a possible reunion next year, singer Agnetha Faltskog said in a German newspaper interview Sunday.

Next year marks the 40th anniversary of the band's first hit "Waterloo", which won them the Eurovision song contest and catapulted them to fame.

ABBA subsequently became one of the world's best-selling pop bands with a string of number one hits such as "Mamma Mia", "Dancing Queen" and "Super Trouper

There is something so naive, innocent and sweet about Swedish culture and Abba personified that.

Not ABBA, but one of my favorite Swedish performers, is Sofia Jannok.

This was one of her best displays of the sweet, innocence she had. BTW it features the Ice Hotel near where she lives.

Irene

This one was also great but I especially like the Caddy. Notice how the innocence is...fading.

Arvas

Today she still has a great voice but is far left in everything and her music is suffering. I suspect she is in with the wrong crowd.

I thought they all hated each other at this point in time. They were offered a cool billion to reunite but they turned that down and that was years ago. Suddenly the 40th anniversary of Waterloo makes them want to reunite?

Your MIL is lucky to have you acting as a caring daughter. You’re doing the right thing. I hope I’m ready to be so mature when it’s my turn to help someone like that.

That cartoon is likely based on CoCo Channel, but I think of Imogene Coca when I see her, in all that homely glory.

There is something so naive, innocent and sweet about Swedish culture...

One of the local PBS stations runs Swedish crime dramas.

Not exactly innocent...

Barry White , sort of the black Barry Manilow, has his place in the Warm Up Room too.

Thanks for sharing those. I really enjoyed.

No doubt the innocence is fading. The culture is being diluted. Leftism destroys everything eventually.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo also comes to mind. The age of innocence is ending but you can still feel and see vestiges of it.

I don’t have many songs on my computer , but ABBA’s greatest hits are many of them.
The were great. One of the best.

I find this amazing as Agnetha was the one who said under NO circumstances would she EVER consider doing a reunion.

I predict if they do get together again, it’ll make more money than their wildest dreams of avarice. No to mention a HUGE television audience.

Good point..it depends on how they stage and produce it..

One of my favorite groups is The Seekers, and Judith Durham's voice is divine. She left the band to so a solo act...they broke up, and a few years ago they reuninted for a 25th anniversary tour.

see for yourself

In Saudi Arabia the largest town near our base was called Abha. Occasionally a new store or restaurant would open. If the town’s name was part of the place’s name they would have a huge sign proudly proudly displaying it. One was “ABBA FOR FAMILIES RESTAURANT.” Happened a few times and we were sure the intent wasn’t to honor the band.
