I now use something called Sea Foam....a marine engine additive to the gas. It works rather well.

I have become very proficient at rebuilding the carbs on all my 2 cycle stuff. I also bought several spare sets of rebuild kits. I’ll be dead before I have to succumb to their sh!t

Whenever the percentage of ethanol changes, my car’s MPG is proportionally invesely impacted. Ethanol is to cars what high fructose corn syrup is to people.

The 10% level was a failure, so naturally liberals call for increasing the level, which will be a worse failure, so liberals will want it raised even more, and more, ....

STUPID LIBERALS!
Food is for eating, both for humans and for our animals that we eat.
Food is not for wasting by turning into alcohol and tearing up vehicles, and tools.

I’m surprised we haven’t gotten any kickback here. Usually when an ethanol thread comes up we have some corn farmer/grain operator types who trumpet all the benefits of ethanol and show you all their BS links about how it doesn’t do all the bad stuff everyone experiences.

A person would have to be mad to come in *here* and defend this crap.
Every single one of our cars has had chronic ‘fuel line’ issues.
Every single one was ‘fixed’ by replacing damaged nearly new lines or parts and adding stuff like Gas Dri, Sta-Bil or Seafoam.
The problem is *always* water in the system which is directly related to the ethanol sucking water from the air.
I hate the effin’ sh**.
-Hate- it.
Somebody upthread said premium octanes have none...apparently MD is different.
That’s what we use in the Harleys and they get the same ‘water in line’ problems.

How about the gubmint allow us to get our own oil, the farmer can grow food, and the camel jockeys can eat sand?

I hate it too. But I will tell you that I have had good performance with something called Sea Foam - a marine additive. I think my dosage is about 20ml per gallon IIRC.
I bought a whole case of the stuff on Amazon.

I suppose it would be a mistake, then, to jump in here and note that I've put almost a 1/4 million miles on my Silverado on E-85 ethanol and haven't yet even had to change spark plugs.
To: rktman
Interesting that the formula one and the drag racers have been burning Methanol and nitromethane for years perhaps the auto industry and small engine industry should do their part and make cars and engines that will handle the ethanol.
