“Calm down” is *exactly* the wrong thing to say to a woman! LOL!
This is a running joke in our house!
I’m a Type A - mr. a is a Type B - my family calls him “the voice of reason”. So when he says “You really need to calm down now, honey,” I take him at his word. And I do it FAST.
I think it was the university of californication at berkly that did a study and was “shocked” to find that in domestic disputes, women resorted violence first by a 51 to 49 percent margin.
When all this male hating crap first hit the scene, men got arrested just because they were there, and she was crying.
Now, guys have learned to hold back on the return fire, and a LOT of women are ending up in the chill room because of it.
Cops don’t automatically believe the “little lady” and her tales of woe and abuse anymore.
Watched the neighbors get into a knock down drag out. The dude never layed a finger on her. Of course, when the cops showed up, all of a sudden medusa face turned to cry baby tears face. “He choked me, he choked me.” The female cop took her flashlight and looked all over for marks, finding none, she turned to the supervisor and gave a very discrete ‘thumbs down.’ When they turned her around and cuffed her, medusa face came roaring back. Not only did she get hammered for domestic violence (dude had a bloody nose and busted lip) she got hammered for trying to assault the female cop and the supervisor, who she really laid into with a verbal assault that would make a sailor blush. (The divorce came soon after, neighborhood never saw her again thank goodness.)
So, the worm turns.
And Just Damn, the hissy fits.

It’s the women who are causing the problems in relationships!

Now that the Lifetime myths are being dispelled, I think Spike network should make TV movies about abusive women lying to the cops.
I make light of it but basically when a woman becomes physically violent the best thing a man can do is leave. In an altercation a man who does anything other than assume the fetal position will find himself in jail. Imagine what would have been the result if your neighbor’s ex had bruised herself attacking him.
Yea, he knows that now.
But she insisted that he CHOKED her. Its the first thing women go for.
Bruises anywhere else mean nothing.
Female cops have become way savvy to women trying to marginalize men they fall out of favor with.
In my HO, stick to professional women. They are FAR CHEAPER (in the long run) and don’t come back to bite you at 2AM.
Unfortunately, HHS made no comment about whether it’s a good or bad idea to tell a woman to calm down when she’s mad at you.

Any married man knows the answer to that question.
Women run to report it when they have been abused. Men are usually too embarrassed to do so. The statistics don’t reflect reality.

They have kept me out of a BUNCH of trouble.
Never had one profess her undying “love” for me.
Never had one claim I was the “daddy.”
Never had one bang on the door at 2AM, drunk.
Never had one call at 4:30 am, drunk, wanting to “rat me out.”
Never had one try to shred my underwear.
And on and on.
I NEVER paid for, oh well, whatever. I DID pay for them to LEAVE.
And true to their profession, they did.
It was a really fine relationship.
I’m guessing this post will see file cabinet 13.
So be it.
More efficient than dinner, a bottle of wine and small talk I suppose.

She didn’t TRY, she actually managed it.
She THOUGHT I had the temerity to LOOK at another woman.
PS, the OTHER woman was my cousin.
Later, my cousin and I laughed, but at the time, the beeyatch was serious and violent. And all my Fruit of the Loom went into the garbage disposal. (about 50 dollars worth)
Never had that problem with a pro.

Lets see, dinner = about 100 to 150 now, a bottle of wine = anywhere from 30 to 100 or more, and hours of “small talk.” Not knowing if its going anywhere.
So, there’s about 250 OR MORE for “small talk” with no real destination at hand.
Can work with a pro for 3 bills, no dinner, no wine, no “small talk.”
Destination achieved, and no after dinner heartburn.
Works for me.
BTW, treat a pro well, you get treated well.
