Hi Amy!

Lynn-Dah and i are back from our errands, and we dined al-fresco at the Pita Pit, an amusing little bistro that does not discriminate against Black Labs.

Now It’s time for work!:-)

BRrrr..I am so glad you had the propane heater.
I knew how fortunate we were to have missed the ice.
Stay warm!

Good afternoon, LTOS.

Hope you and Lynn-Dah are staying warm.

After doing a little internet shopping this morning, I went back to bed to get warm. :)

When we left Marissa at the bus stop at 7:00, it was 20deg. The school “Winter Program” is this Wednesday. She has a solo part again. They perform at the High School Wednesday with other schools in the district and the High School. Next week they perform their part at her Elementary School. I need to go to FResno tomorrow and buy her a white sweater. Yep .... she keeps me running.

I hope I didn’t miss anyone. :(

Marissa was going to sign in and thank everyone before her party, but my niece and her kids got here early so Marissa found something else to do.

She did tell me to tell everyone “Thank You”. At 14, she finds too many things to sidetrack her. She is busy with who knows what!

Thank you again for helping to make her day special!!

Yes ... I heard that Florida is the only of the lower 48 without severe winter weather.

Enjoy. We had hoped for a little snow earlier but nothing came of it. Our temps to go up a little in 2 or 3 days. We were worried that our pipes might freeze. So far so good.

I hate it when pipes freeze.

The old cast iron radiators they have in Boston actually split with a loud band and spill water all over the hardwood floors.

Been there...done that.

Pipes in house should be okay but it is the ones from the pump to our small orchard and the sprinkler system to the yard.

We have never lived where it is really cold so we don’t really have it that bad. :)

Hopefully, the natural insulating properties of the soil ans plantlife will protect the system for you./

But i will say a prayer just in case.

One of the ways we would keep the interior pipes from freezing in Boston was to let a tiny trickle of warm water seep out of the faucet all night (daytimes were not as bad, as the sunlight would warm the walls of the house). Some of the pipes were in thew outer walls and at night would freeze unless there was that tiny stream of hot water going all night.

Sure, it wasted water and electricity, but it was a lot cheaper than having the pipes burst inside the walls of your house!

Sure, I’m part Eskimo, but I HATE winter!

Good morning to Amy's Place!

I am dedicating this to all our deployed military and their families, most of whom, sadly, will not be together for Christmas. I appreciate their service and their family's sacrifice, and I pray for a world at peace, where none of our men and women need serve in war zones.
