Are we really supposed to just ignore the name?

You can’t even focus on the story because of the child’s name.

Plenty O’Toole: Hi, I’m Plenty.

James Bond: But of course you are.

Plenty O’Toole: Plenty O’Toole.

James Bond: Named after your father perhaps?

An innocent little girl just had her finger severed and no one at the school called 911. And all everyone wants to talk about is her name...?

Glad she's going to be all right. The mom's comment is priceless:

"How is this not an emergency and her finger is in a bag. She didn’t think it was an emergency. So I'm thinking, maybe a child has to be dead and that's the only way to call 911.”

Not so amazing after all.

Hell, I’m Totally Average, and I managed to keep all 10 fingers my whole childhood.

How is the name any different than the names given to Puritan girls AND boys: Patience, Remember, Surenus, Remembrance, Oceanus, Mercy, Charity, Serenity, etc.?

Focus, people.

I find it easy to say Amazing, it has no apostrophes, dashes, commas, other punctuation that normally accompanies these names. However, think of the possibilities in a job search. Sentences like, “I’m Amazing” “This employee is Amazing” “Its a job for an Amazing person” and so on, this girl will be in a very high paying job very soon after dropping out of high school!

Something tells me some on this thread are focusing too much on the first name, instead of in the totality of the name.

While it is urgent, it is not worthy of a 911 call.

Parents of 6-year-old Amazing Johnson, were angered when they learned that school officials did not call 911 when their daughter’s fingertip was severed. Latesha Coleman, Amazing’s mother, told KRIV Fox 26, Hughes Road Elementary administrators called her but downplayed the severity of the student’s injury saying, "She told me that the nurse was working with Amazing, that Amazing is fine. She's being loved on by the nurse."

Did the parents give the school the finger?

Shouldn't Amazing Johnson be a guys name?

Imagine living up to that name.
