How about we find someone other than Cornyn and Stockman? Why is Stockman a bad choice? I don’t know that he is a bad choice. Cornyn has been is the Senate for 12 years. It’s time for him to go elsewhere before he he becomes more corrupt than 12 years in the Senate will get you. When the IRS scandal was coming out and everyone went somewhere to freep, we went to Cornyn's office. Not only outside but we went into talk to someone there. Told him Cornyn isn't conservative and he got upset with me and said so and so says he is the second most conservative in the Senate. I don't buy it!
I'm for anybody else but we still need to check out the candidates. Not just take anybody who signed up. Maybe we can get together on one of the guys and just beat Cornyn.
On Republican congressional primary races where a RINO (or near-RINO) is being challenged in a “red” state/district where there will be a runoff if nobody gets 50% in the primary, I try to encourage folks (and candidates) to focus on attacking the RINO. Do positive messaging to point out why one challenger is better or best, but don’t attack other challengers since EACH challenger can serve to take votes away from the RINO in the primary and help keep him below 50%. Let’s keep our eyes on the prize—a truly conservative Republican majority caucus in the Senate and in the House with truly conservative leaders. The 2014 election cycle offers ample opportunity to advance toward and/or achieve this goal. An old freeper friend Gracey always would lament "how Republicans would eat their own" and "dems always fought for the slimest candidates". I'm with you there let us research the guys and everyone vote for someone other than Cornyn. He used to be good but there is something in the water in DC and I think he drinks the water.
You could admit that your FR handle doesn’t sound gentle, but I apologize for not looking first.
I’ve just run out of patience withe the concern trolls that constantly debase our best candidates, which those you referenced certainly were among. They lost because their constituency allowed themselves to be swayed by the adversary.
I to was a lurker for several years going back to the nineties I think. Comment that I thought was fairly middle of the road and innocent sorta. Well, you would thought I had peed on Reagan’s grave in front of God and everybody from the reaction. It was swift and without mercy and from a crew I had noticed doing the same thing to others in the past, they probably are not here any longer but it was a coordinated effort to nail both myself and other people.
I stopped commenting for some years as I thought who needs this 5hit later I decided fork em and started commenting because even dumba55es have a right to speak. Actually I kinda like the rough and tumble which honest people engage in without the personal attacks as long as we are disagreeing on points of fact not emotional garbage.
They used to call it flaming if I remember correctly and may still for all I know so go for it. This man has a right to be heard. Period. As our fearless leader says. And a Merry Christmas, even to you pricks and you know who you are.

Free Republic allows free reasonable speech, and people here are diverse, and some are unkind or inconsiderate. Yet some would give you the shirt off their own backs. In a truly free interchange, you will always get the kind of people who were rude to you. Respond with valid decent argumentation and kill ‘em with logic and knowledge.

It's going to take everybody that has filed against Cornyn to pull enough votes to keep him under 50%. Vega will have to get votes, Stovall will have to get votes, and Stockman will have to get votes to take Cornyn to a run-off.
One person can't beat Cornyn, any more than Cruz could beat Dewhurst without all of the other candidates pulling votes from Dewhurst and keeping him under 50%.
We don't need to get together. Everyone needs to vote for their candidate that isn't Cornyn.

I said no such thing about Texas. Please don’t imply I did. Concerning Nevada and Missouri, the Tea Party must be able to take constructive criticism. In my opinion, after the fact, they weren’t the best choices for the Tea Party. I know we can do better. I just know we can!

if you ‘ve been lurking since 2000, then you must have noticed that FR now is not the FR of old.
gone are most of the stalwarts - the ones who put their ‘money where their mouth’ was...and got things done.

Right after I posted that I realized you probably thought I was a male. My handle is from an old political joke. I know you would not have used that language if you had known I was a lady.
I will leave the issue of Missouri and Nevada alone as we will not agree but please know that we are on the same side at the end of the day.
