The cold is doing things to my brain. It's no surprise that in those COLD countries of Europe and Russia, LOTS of drinking goes on. I guess it warms people up.
I was in Finland (Suomi) some years ago and I NEVER, EVER, EVER saw so many drunks in my whole life...out on the street, in the railroad stations, everywhere. I guess the women stay at home and drink.

I makes them feel warm, but a lot of these people turn around and freeze to death. I don’t want that Siberian bubble to break off and come here. It’s been bad enough so far.

At least he doesn’t refer to winter storms by name, like the stupid Weather Channel.

Alcoholics Anonymous will be adding to their already substantial membership in wholesale numbers throughout Red Hampshire over the next few days...single digit readings well below normal for an average December. It is downright COLD.

My sister said the same thing......They were in a grocery store and the shopping carts contained mostly booze.
It's the loooooonnnng cold winters with very diminished sunlight which in itself is depressing as hell.....Probably Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).

Something about the Finns. They drink A LOT.

20 degrees and the hockey game’s on
Nobody cares, they’re way too far gone, screaming
Boat drinks, something to keep ‘em all warm
This morning I shot six holes in my freezer
I think I’ve got cabin fever
Somebody sound the alarm

It is downright COLD.No one is REQUIRED to live there all their lives, so I assume that the New Hampshire folks like it.
All I have to say is: brrrrrr!

Its been bad enough so far.I really don't think that the Finns want to come here. They like their country...especially now that they aren't under the Soviet thumb any more.

The conservatives are leaving Red Hampshire in wholesale numbers...that is why it has turned blue. Very expensive; only New Yorkers can afford to live here. I’m already working on an escape plan. :-)

I wonder why the New Yorkers go up there. It's way up north and colder than Peeeroonies. Cheap real estate? Wonderful vacation places? What's the attraction?
To: cloudmountain
What's the attraction? Got me. Taxes here are astronomical, but still less than New York, so maybe that appeals to them. Less crime...so far. Real estate certainly is not cheap...finding a rental for less than $1000 is nigh impossible. Again, cheaper than New York, though. One thing I have noticed, when one New Yorker moves in, his entire extended family soon follows. Maybe they are all skiers. :-)

Or maybe it's the sheep syndrome--one person does it and others follow because.

We had rain, rain, rain today and 45 degrees. Nasty.

It HAS to be money. There are people here that really, really love their money.
