Hey, I have a question for you. This sounds dumb, but is there a way to upgrade my MacBook Pro machine? For a short while, there was advertised a snow leopard upgrade, but now it seems like it doesn’t exist any more. I have version 10.5.8 with an Intel. I did a search at the store but nothing comes up. I’m usually pretty good at this kind of thing, but I’m getting snake-eyes lately....

I seem to be in obsoleteland, where Firefox tells me I’m unsupported because of that.

(I probably shouldn’t be messing with this, considering I have a S/W upgrade for my car sitting in a box in my study)

It really depends on whether you have an original Early 2007 Intel MacBook Pro or a later model. If the latter or later you can upgrade to OSX.9.1 for free. I think. But it may require that you borrow someone's snow leopard install disk to get the leg up you need. Or perhaps a visit to the nearest Apple Store. You might call 1-800-MY APPLE and inquire. Start by using the black Apple Menu and about this Mac, and more info to determine when your MacBook Pro was made.

Andrew

P.S. Upgrade your car tomorrow.

Thanks! About all I could tell you is the black apple says I have a MacBook Pro 5.1. There is a serial number, so I guess the Apple Store can figure it out....

The car promises to be a three-six hour project, so Saturday’s looking good. I need to drive the car tomorrow....
