Jon Kitna joining Dallas Cowboys as QB insurance

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that the Dallas Cowboys worked out David Carr, Tyler Thigpen, John Skelton and Caleb Hanie, only to send all four of the free-agent quarterbacks home without a contract.

Now we know why.

I sometimes listen to the Cowboy’s radio broadcasts, and while Babe was not a good quarterback he knows his stuff.

I never thought about his school being on break, but if they went to the playoffs and he played backup, wouldn’t he be missing some school then?

What is the chance that the 'Boys will make the playoffs without Romo? Some people will say Eagles are going to win even if the 'Boys have Romo. So its a good chance that Kitna won't miss any school time.

Do we honestly think that any of these QBs are much better than Kitna? If it were earlier in the season, maybe bring in a guy like Hanie or Skelton who may have a little bit more upside and has time to learn the play book. It’s a good signing at this point.
